Dog Eats Family’s Entire Christmas Turkey, Can’t Move Afterwards
On Christmas Eve, one greedy pooch named Bubba snuck into the kitchen and secretly ate the whole turkey bird. The naughty dog’s owner David Barrett from Prestwick, South Ayrshire, realized what happened only when he saw the doggie collapsing on the floor. Bubba was so bloated that it made the Chi Apso (a mix between Chihuahua and Lhasa Apso) unable to move.
The family pet only left a tiny piece of the Christmas dinner, but it wasn’t nearly enough to feed the Barretts. The canine’s owner decided to share the hilarious story on Twitter. He tweeted: “No chance has my silly dog scranned the whole turkey for tomorrow.” Then Barrett added a picture with the following caption: “There’s the culprit; she can’t move.”
Fortunately, the Christmas dinner was saved when the family got the relatives to bring another turkey. And as for Bubba… Her owner is fixing a new doggie diet right after the New Year.
Realizing that his dog ate the Christmas turkey, David Barrett posted: “There’s the culprit, she can’t move”

Share on FacebookNot only is it unfortunate for the dog that it almost died from an unattended turkey.... but the parents think it's funny to post photos as well. This would be a DIFFERENT story if they posted as a warning to other unaware dog owners.... but no, they sought internet humor by "share the hilarious story on Twitter." NOTHING is hilarious about this story.
You people are self-righteous, moralizing, condescending, sanctimonious, goody-goody, preachy idiots. This story IS funny. I bet the dog thinks: "yeah, hurt little, but wow, turkey was such yummy, so taste ......"
Well, I still think it's hilarious. This clever self-regulating dog ate as much as it could and left the rest. It's not that it happens every day. And I still think you people are insufferably hateful towards this dog's owners. You cannot supervise pets all the time. Stuff happens. Get a life, instead of sticking your controlling compulsive supervisory obsessions to where they are self-evidently not needed.
Load More Replies...My goodness, this is absolutely so NOT funny. I know these things happen, but to joke about it on social media? That little guy could bloat and die. So not funny.
Well said. The owners also did a service by putting this on social media. I would keep an eye on a larger dog, but this is a small fellow.
Load More Replies...Wow. I know it's really not good for the dog but so many hate comments. 😡you guys don't have to keep saying the same thing to them. They also probably love the dog so they'll be extra careful. They probs thought it was funny because they didn't realise how serious it was. 😥
The owners are incredibly stupid for not watching the dog while she ate the whole turkey. That would take quite a while for her to accomplish. And them not being around is VERY irresponsible.
I agree. However... I strongly believed in darwin. Meaning if a dog eats so much that he dies from it... Well... You know?
Load More Replies...Calm down, everyone. The self-righteousness in these comments is tipping my scale of patience. God, you all think that you are better than the owner just because his dog ate unattended food. You don't even know the backstory to this, how it got to the turkey in the first place and if the owner had any distractions at the time. Yet you're automatically the judge and the jury that can decide that the dog is probably neglected for the rest of the time as well, and that he should be taken from his owners, coming close to suggesting that he'd almost be better off in a shelter..? Pathetic. Yes, they made a mistake by not prioritising taking him to the vet first and trying to make what seemed like a light-hearted joke online. But this can teach many lessons to everyone. Mainly, the fact that a lot of degeneration of our progress as a civilisation is down to you, finger-pointing, self-catering, blindly-judging people who can't even fathom the possibility of constructive advice.
Thank you Oleg! I could not agree with you more! Disgusting ridiculous people!
Load More Replies...All rhetoric comments, this reminds me of that episode in Shameless US when you know who gets into the cocaine by mistake Cuz she left it on the counter. Well I'm pretty sure the dog is okay so I can say this.. Looks like the dog gave the scraps to the humans this time! 😅
But it was so tasty!! I had a dog like that would eat until it was sick glad dog is ok
Shame on you s****y owners who prefers to try internet buzz than taking care of their dogs correctly. It's not only a diet this poor little one needs, it's a visit to the vet to be sure she is okay.
Yes, besides, if they say she ate a whole turkey, probably it means she ate some bones, too, which can be very dangerous. What's wrong with people? Why are some people so unable to feel empathy for the voiceless ones? Is mankind doomed?
Load More Replies...I hope she is okay now and got some medical attention... awww... My Coco (lHasa Apso) is not much if a eater but sometimes she overeats but, she vomits later on
This is not a laughing matter, its not funny.. they should have taken the dog to a vet and got her stomach pumped !!!! poor dog. She must have been in agony !!!!!
Bubba is a beautiful, adorable dog. I feel very sad for how miserable she clearly is in the first photo. This makes me incredibly angry, and I don't understand how any loving pet parent would ever find this even slightly amusing, let alone "hilarious". Bubba deserves better parents.
could have been disastrous...hope the dog is really doing well.....stupid owners if they found that funny....ughhh
Poor dog stupid owner. You need to have that FURBABY taken to the vet and make sure all Is okay because of the bones. It is dangerous. This is not funny at all.
Poor pooch. Dogs don't have a switch saying your full they eat till they throw up. Butbtydtr Thank god he didn't get a bone stick in his throat or a sharp bone in his belly, which could puncture his throat, esophagus, stomach or his intestines. This poor dog should've been brought to the vet there are always 24 hr vet hospitals. The dog needed to throw up.
It wasn't funny and am glad the owner is putting dog on a diet. I do not think the owner is laughing either. Great story posted here to let us know that this CAN happen. Little dogs too.
Yea, I don't think this is a funny story at all. My first thoughts were, "get that poor dog to the Vet, be sure he's alright." smh...
Woah, quite a lot of sad comments here, anyone want to see some memes? Click my profile xD xD xD xD
What the Hell were they doing for *so* long that a dog that small had time to DESTROY an entire Turkey?! I mean really, at no point did anyone question where the dog was? I have three myself, and if I don't see them for *five minutes* or LESS in the same room, they're up to something! Bad owners. Poor doggo.
Everyone saying negative things here. So eager to judge. You're all acting like you know exactly what happened, like you were there. Arrogant know- it -all. People make mistakes. Something you all need to realize.
All this criticism and hate is what's making me lose faith in humanity.

“No chance has my dog scranned the whole turkey for tomorrow” ehh what?
What a bunch of self righteous a*****e hateful comments being posted! The doggie looks fine, yes a little bloated, but perhaps other than just a bunch of gas and a doggie diet later and this little pooch will be fine!
Here's a thought ...the owner made the post for other pet owners to warn what could happen
First off, we even have to make jokes about putting our dogs on diets for the new year, just because they behaved like dogs do. Secondly, this is a very small dog and it could've been very dangerous for her to eat so much at once. She needed a vet check, not a twitter post. And maybe she did get one, but that info should've been included then. Finally, I truly hope this turkey was really a turkey breast since poultry bones are really dangerous for dogs to eat. If it wasn't AND she still wasn't taken to the vet (or the vet consulted by phone at minimum), then these are truly irresponsible pet owners. Regardless, this isn't a funny story without knowing all of these facts, and certainly not something that should be promoted as such. If we knew she'd gone to the vet, and we knew she was cleared of any danger, then we could laugh about it. But without that? It just reeks of irresponsibility and makes me sad for poor Bubba.
Poor dog. She looks like she's in pain. A dog that was getting proper nutrition from her food would not have eaten herself sick like that.
That's just not necessarily true. It's rare to find a dog who wouldn't go crazy and eat most of a turkey if given the chance, regardless of how well cared for they are otherwise. It's a novelty food and a delicious one for them. Most dogs would've done this. Cats are less likely to eat themselves sick, but dogs are infamous for it.
Load More Replies...I don't believe it! The bones would have killed it before the overeating...if its true...but I don't believe it one bit!!! I think you just let your dog get fat and thought it a cute joke ....
I think the turkey was carved and the dog ate all that, but I'm just guessing. If it wasn't carved, I agree that it eating the keel and ribs and everything is highly unlikely.
