There are so many dog breeds, it's incredibly easy to mistake one pooch for another. Luckily, St. Louis-based artist Grace Gogarty (a.k.a. Little Tunny) has created a comprehensive comic series that will help you identify most of the dog types.

"I've been drawing comics since I was a kid," Grace told Bored Panda. "I absolutely love animals, so that's usually my focus! I worked as a supervisor at a doggy daycare for years and got to meet lots of dogs. The cartoon dogs featured in this guide are the breeds I met the most of."

The artist has divided the series into three parts - big, medium, and small dog breeds, so no k9s are left behind. Great Danes? Check. Border Collies, Yorkshire Terriers? Yep. Pugs, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherds? Yup. "Sadly, I haven't met every dog in the word yet so that I couldn't write about them all," Grace said. "Although I stereotype them, all dogs are wonderful individuals, so I couldn't possibly pick a favorite breed!"

Among the animals Gogarty owns, there's one pooch as well. "His Name is Huey, and he is an enigma. We have no idea what kind of breeds he's comprised of!" Scroll down to meet the dog memes, and remember - even if some traits sound better than others, every dog deserves a to be a pet. Even if it pees all over your new rug.

I always feel sorry for huskies who are adopted by lazy people. They should get a lazy dog or a goldfish.

Labs are great! They are smart, and loyal,....if you can keep them at home. They're Big-Time roamers. Unfortunately, they don't do all that well in the house. My black Lab, 'Captain Black' had a lethal tail, which was always sweeping back and forth. Unfortunately, he could clear a coffee table in a matter of just a few seconds. The Captain was the main reason why I happily switched from red wine to white wine. Oh, and the Captain sure could fart up a storm too. :D

2 Dobermans used to bark furiously at me every morning as I walked to school bus. One morning I spoke to them. Then on, our routine was they would wait for me eagerly every morning, and I would stop and talk to them. They were happy to see me.

My dog loves to play with the rottweiler mix down the street. He looks like a purebreed, like no sign of the dalmation or the mastiff in him. Everytime he sees our dog he jumps up and down like a little puppy.

Definitely scared of leaves! And ironing boards, vacuum cleaners and pet rats. Can hear a fridge door open from approx 1 mile away. Will eat literally anything! Mine also thinks that she's a lot smaller than she is, and tries to sneak up on my lap. A 8 stone rottie just can't sneak up. Fiercely loyal and protective of her family- but can be bribed with yoghurt

I had two I too off the owners hands (he was going to shoot them because he was moving and didnt want to deal with rabies shots...asshat)...boots, the male, was big, dumb, and happy- and completely untrained. smokey, on the other hand, was a female who had been trained well- she only barked when necessary- when i heard her bark, i got the gun. boots would bark if his butt itched. I still miss the two goofballs, and Im glad i told the owner to f**k off and took em!

I raised and trained Rotties for obedience. I also fostered Pugs. The Pugs (9) could go up to the rotties and take a toy away right from the mouth. To see one Rottie and 4 Pugs piled up and sleeping all together is heart warming. Rotties AND Pugs , like all dogs, have to have a leader (alpha) they can follow. They then learn what is acceptable behavior and what isn't. A chip monk (ground squirrel) scared them also. LOVE THIS PORTRAYAL OF A ROTTIE!!!! KUDOS!

A friend hat a rottweiler most of his life. His cats bullied her. All they had to do was look at her and she'd go running. I felt bad for the dog, but on the other hand, it was really funny to see a dog that size intimidated by a 8 pound cat.

Had a Rottie for several years. Closer to him than to almost any human! He was a big goofball, and so much fun, but he loved to be glued to my side. Always a big snuggler. Sad that they are misrepresented so much.

My brothers' dog "Robert DeNiro, aka Bobbie" is our unofficial GoodWill Ambassador for the ROTTWEILER breed. He's just a big dumb kid and absolutely LOVES everyone! When I take him for walks, I have to remind him that I'M walking HIM. He looks so intimidating, but can easily be had with a belly rub or Bacon Snack.

Mine is a great big love sponge until he sees a skate board and the occasional wheel chair. He goes from angel to a*****e in the blink of an eye, then right back to angel when it's out of his sight. Wouldn't trade him for all the gold in the world.

I had the most loving a smushy Rotty from birth to 10 1/2 years. Loved to be on the couch and watch TV, lay on the bath mat during a shower and sleep in the middle of the bed. Preferred us to anything else and was terrified of small dogs. Non confrontational and loved his own time. Great at napping, hated the rain, loved the snow and only waded in water. Loyal and loving and missed deeply.

I've not had good experiences with Rotties. my nan's always growled and raised their heckles so we had to stay away, and I walked by one tied up at the shop not too long back, he was looking at me wagging his tail so i said hello in a friendly voice *NOTE* ( I didn't enter it's space, approach it or try to touch it) and it fully lept up to the full extent of its leash and tried to go for my face, like proper attack e, not 3fplay mode. I was literally in shock shaking for like 10 mins after! The night and length it had reached on its leash if it had been a child walking past the outcome would have been horrific!

The fact that it acts all ready for a fight and everything is funny, but then the "scared of leaves" part is just hilarious

Also, scared of brooms and clothing irons. Amazingly loyal to one person forever. Your best friend as long as you aren't hurting their person.

A friend with horses had 2 rotties. She'd had these dogs for many years. One took a bite out of her backside as she was closing the barn. Not ok

The Yorkshire terrier will also show its affection by nipping your ankles. They have teeth sharp enough to draw blood at every nip. (Don't tell me that I should break them of that habit, please -- they're not my dogs but a friend's.)

Still miss ours. He was awesome. Never really had to train him and he listened perfectly. Would just walk near you and come when called. Kinda obsessed about bananas and would do anything for 1. (Stole a whole bunch of the table once... Silly dog) He hated water so when it was bath time, I would just get in the shower with him and close the door. He loved getting brushed and groomed though.

The border collie needs to have work to do or it will be neurotic. If you don't have time to spend training your dog, get something less intelligent. Sometimes a border collie will herd your kids to keep them from getting separated from you.

Tsundere lol that actually sums it up pretty well. Mine sometimes wants to be pet hard and long, but mostly she'll lay down somewhere close and love you from a distance - just don't touch her or she'll leave.

Just adopted an old man doxie with no teeth. Jef is right, he will eat rabbit poops, frozen bread in the yard for the birds, anything off the floor. He doesn't look to see what it is, he just gulps it down.

According to these descriptions, most of these breeds should not be house pets.

You're thinking about akitas. Shibas (mostly) like petting. Akitas are like "no way, dude" as they slip just out of your reach. Not fan of strangers.

In my seventy plus years, I have always been a dog lover/owner. Big dogs, medium dogs, and small ones. But when I got my first shih-tzu I've never looked back since. They're very energetic, love kids, easy to hold, and the most expensive part to them is the grooming every 6-7 weeks. They don't eat a lot, and best of all, they don't leave big piles that need cleaning up. Oh, and they look like hairy little children, in need of affection. I love my CharlieK. Period!
