There are so many dog breeds, it's incredibly easy to mistake one pooch for another. Luckily, St. Louis-based artist Grace Gogarty (a.k.a. Little Tunny) has created a comprehensive comic series that will help you identify most of the dog types.

"I've been drawing comics since I was a kid," Grace told Bored Panda. "I absolutely love animals, so that's usually my focus! I worked as a supervisor at a doggy daycare for years and got to meet lots of dogs. The cartoon dogs featured in this guide are the breeds I met the most of."

The artist has divided the series into three parts - big, medium, and small dog breeds, so no k9s are left behind. Great Danes? Check. Border Collies, Yorkshire Terriers? Yep. Pugs, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherds? Yup. "Sadly, I haven't met every dog in the word yet so that I couldn't write about them all," Grace said. "Although I stereotype them, all dogs are wonderful individuals, so I couldn't possibly pick a favorite breed!"

Among the animals Gogarty owns, there's one pooch as well. "His Name is Huey, and he is an enigma. We have no idea what kind of breeds he's comprised of!" Scroll down to meet the dog memes, and remember - even if some traits sound better than others, every dog deserves a to be a pet. Even if it pees all over your new rug.

I always feel sorry for huskies who are adopted by lazy people. They should get a lazy dog or a goldfish.

Labs are great! They are smart, and loyal,....if you can keep them at home. They're Big-Time roamers. Unfortunately, they don't do all that well in the house. My black Lab, 'Captain Black' had a lethal tail, which was always sweeping back and forth. Unfortunately, he could clear a coffee table in a matter of just a few seconds. The Captain was the main reason why I happily switched from red wine to white wine. Oh, and the Captain sure could fart up a storm too. :D

2 Dobermans used to bark furiously at me every morning as I walked to school bus. One morning I spoke to them. Then on, our routine was they would wait for me eagerly every morning, and I would stop and talk to them. They were happy to see me.

My dog loves to play with the rottweiler mix down the street. He looks like a purebreed, like no sign of the dalmation or the mastiff in him. Everytime he sees our dog he jumps up and down like a little puppy.

The Yorkshire terrier will also show its affection by nipping your ankles. They have teeth sharp enough to draw blood at every nip. (Don't tell me that I should break them of that habit, please -- they're not my dogs but a friend's.)

Still miss ours. He was awesome. Never really had to train him and he listened perfectly. Would just walk near you and come when called. Kinda obsessed about bananas and would do anything for 1. (Stole a whole bunch of the table once... Silly dog) He hated water so when it was bath time, I would just get in the shower with him and close the door. He loved getting brushed and groomed though.

The border collie needs to have work to do or it will be neurotic. If you don't have time to spend training your dog, get something less intelligent. Sometimes a border collie will herd your kids to keep them from getting separated from you.

Tsundere lol that actually sums it up pretty well. Mine sometimes wants to be pet hard and long, but mostly she'll lay down somewhere close and love you from a distance - just don't touch her or she'll leave.

Just adopted an old man doxie with no teeth. Jef is right, he will eat rabbit poops, frozen bread in the yard for the birds, anything off the floor. He doesn't look to see what it is, he just gulps it down.

According to these descriptions, most of these breeds should not be house pets.

You're thinking about akitas. Shibas (mostly) like petting. Akitas are like "no way, dude" as they slip just out of your reach. Not fan of strangers.

In my seventy plus years, I have always been a dog lover/owner. Big dogs, medium dogs, and small ones. But when I got my first shih-tzu I've never looked back since. They're very energetic, love kids, easy to hold, and the most expensive part to them is the grooming every 6-7 weeks. They don't eat a lot, and best of all, they don't leave big piles that need cleaning up. Oh, and they look like hairy little children, in need of affection. I love my CharlieK. Period!

Yall missed Miniature Schnauzers. The majority of the havr Napoleon complexes. Scared to death of Shadows but will attempt to take down dogs 10 times their size or are super social. There's no middle ground. Exceptional singers.

Ahhh, too bad they didn't include the royal Beagle in this series. I guess a hound dog is the closest to the beagle. I have a beagle and he's the best dog I've ever had. Don't ever want any other breed, EVER! He's sweet, funny, mischievous, good with other dogs, cats, and kids, and eats anything. Also, can sing (croon, bay, howl), like Frank Sinatra. No, better than Frank! Best. Dog. Breed. EVER!

Beagles.are definitely hounds, all you have to do is listen to them, or put a rabbit in their view, lol.

Hound doggie: Must help with everything -- which means nose is stuck into your sock as you are putting it on, or your underwear. Teach them "DON'T EAT" when outside. It will keep them from eating everything they stick their noses into.

Was hoping to see jack russells “convinced it is the size of a Great Dane. Completely independent; until it’s beddy time. Can I sleep with you?”

Hound dogs--the loudest bark known to man--will cause hearing damage if you are in the same room. Also the biggest cuddlers--sleeping in a pile is the only way to go.

Yes, lovely dogs but not to be trusted around furry pets or wildlife as they have a strong hunting instinct.

You missed the Schipperke and Miniature Pinscher and the Jack Russell :( My Schipperke was so handsome but he loved to be in charge of everyone and everything. Maybe a bloke thing. My Min Pins were girls and just loved snuggling up and soft blankets if they weren't bouncing off the furniture. The JR just never stopped - she was a ball of muscle. Loved giving me guilt-eye if I dared leave her alone to go to work.

My 2 retired working foxhounds ( one now deceased ) did NOT demand respect... they were respected because they were so gentle and good natured . They went from kennel life to house pet life with ease ( alright, they needed to be housebroken but it was not a problem as these dogs are smart, plus the established mixed breeds in the house sort of showed them the ropes) They do enjoy their meals, and exercise and the LOVE their sofas and biig comfy dog beds. I hope I can always have a foxhound in my house, they are great!
