Back in 2014, Cynthia Bennett and her boyfriend wanted to adopt a dog, so they went to an adoption center.

“We looked around and Henry was just sitting there,” said Bennett. “They said he was only three and a half months, but he was like five times bigger than the other three and a half-month old puppies. And he had these long legs, and the body type of a wolf or husky.”

When she entered Henry’s pen, he just curled up into her lap, went belly up and flipped his head over her arm. From then on, she decided to adopt him.

Bennett and her boyfriend are avid hikers and they specially moved to Colorado to go on outdoor adventures during weekends.

To their delight, they found Henry loved going with them.

“I think we only had him for three days when we took him on our first hike, which was to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs,” Bennett said. “He found the steepest, tallest rock around, and he ran up to the top of it to look over the edge.”

“We call him our little mountain goat,” Bennett said further. “He scares us to death, because he goes up to the highest cliff or the highest rock to climb up and look over it.”

Years later, Bennett and her boyfriend intended to adopt a cat.

Bennett finally found a Siamese kitten mix named Baloo at a local shelter. Similar to Henry, Baloo attached himself to Bennett at their first meeting.

“He ran right up to me. And he was the one who played, but he wasn’t the most rowdy,” said Bennett.

But Baloo seemed to adore Henry the most, as the moment they met each other, they snuggled together. Furthermore, Baloo refused to be left behind when Henry went out for a hike.
