People On The Internet Laugh At This Guy’s Revenge Plan After His Ex-Wife’s Divorce Lawyer Asks For 3 Years Of Complete Financials

There are all kinds of stories about people splitting up: some are quick and civil, and some can take years and can cost a lot of money and nerves. Despite the scenario the couple is in, divorce is still known as a sensitive and quite sad process. But what to do when your spouse doesn’t want this painful experience to end as soon as possible and makes things even worse? Reddit user @FederalAnt9 decided to share his divorce story and how he turned this stressful experience into a funny story that received 50.2k upvotes online.

More Info: Reddit

Divorce can be a sensitive and tricky process, especially when people can’t seem to find a way to leave it all on good terms

The user shared that when he and his wife were still married, they were talking about how rich people like to hide their assets to avoid taxes. Little did he know that the things they were discussing later would come back to him in the worst form. So once they decided to split up, the woman decided to heat up the whole thing by stating that her husband was laundering money. This, of course, was taken seriously by her lawyer.

But the ex-husband, being persistent himself too, decided to teach the lawyer by doing what was asked in the most hilarious way

This is when the woman’s lawyer decided to ask the soon-to-be ex-husband to send his income declaration for the past 3 years. In his story, the user also shared that at that time, he didn’t have much money as he was starting his own business, plus he had other financial obligations. For this reason, he decided to represent himself in this divorce case.

His intricate situation didn’t convince the lawyer that he was actually just a guy who wanted to divorce his wife and he hadn’t been doing anything illegal. In fact, he even insulted the husband when he tried to explain the whole situation and why it would be too hard for him to provide all the documents necessary. The user stated that he got triggered by the lawyer saying: “Well, according to your income declarations, you’re not that busy. What do you do all day?” This is when the husband decided to teach this lawyer a lesson.

The ex-husband decided to fax EVERY document that he had over 3 years and fax it to the lawyer

So both men agreed that the documents would be sent via fax. The husband didn’t hold back and did what was asked—he sent every invoice, bank statement, card statement, purchase order, even irrelevant receipts and coupons he’d had throughout those 3 years. He even added cover pages and separators. In total, there were 150+ PDF pages sent via fax. The only thing was that the system kept failing and couldn’t send documents. However, the man was determined enough and changed the settings of the machine to try and re-send documents until they reached the recipient.

This all resulted in asking the man to stop sending documents as the lawyer’s machine kept sticking and getting paper jams. The man was clever enough to then ask him in writing to confirm that they didn’t need these documents any longer. Once the man got what he was asked for, the lawyer never threatened him again. This way, the man proved that you can prove your innocence in a smart and funny way.

I know someone who had to send a 3 page document to a client who had been extremely rude to her. She taped all 3 pages together and when the bottom of the first page came out she taped it to the bottom of the third page so the whole thing kept going around and around. Back in the day nobody had any idea what was happening and the receiver used an entire very expensive roll of fax paper getting the same 3 pages for over an hour. Yeah, don’t mess with Andrea!

This is the best. So when I got divorced, my ex husband had a lawyer....free through his job... that I. HELPED. HIM. GET. I did not have a lawyer. This man and I were married just shy of 3 years. THREE. YEARS. his lawyer tried to come after me for Spousal Maitanence and my retirement. ummm I don't think so Jack. So I googled. And became a google lawyer over night. I sent him an email Citing all of our state codes saying Per ARS 13-blah blah blah your client is not entitled to spousal maitnenance due to A) not being married more than 15 years. B) Not accustomed to certain lifestyle and C) and this is the most important - he is ABLE bodied to work, just because he CHOOSES not to hold down a job doesn't make not able. I then said If he wants three years of my retirement I want 6 months of his (how long he had been at the current job) Lawyer was like are you seriously going to be that petty? Sure the f**k I am. He dropped both. Few months later Lawyer dropped him as 1/2....

2/2 as a client....why? Numb nuts got his self fired.....again. But only after swidling me to agree to insurance which my job refused, so he tried to come after me for that, but by then I spent every penny I had on a pitbull lawyer, it was election year for Judges so I lost, BUT he was too stupid and lawyer less to file the correct paperwork to garnish my wages, so eventually statute of limitations ran out. Go f**k yourself D. hahahaha Now he is in and out of Jail and basically homeless and jobless. Had he fought that hard in our marriage, life would've been much much different for him....maybe. But all is good. I am happy and getting married to my soul mate in December. Karma is real and she is a bitch.

What kind of attorney's office only has an inkjet multifunction machine? A simple cost/benefits analysis says laser all the way.

For all we know this could have happened a while back, or it's possible the attorney's office is in a very small town. But yeah, seems odd.

150 pages? That's nothing. I had to represent myself too and had tens of thousands of pages of documents. My ex's lawyer wanted docs on my patents. I don't have any, but someone with my same name does. She didn't believe they weren't mine. So I got every document I could find about this other person's patents and sent to her. Was around 5,000 pages. Sent by email though. She still had to look at every page cause I could have snuck something unrelated but important in the middle if it somewhere.

I work for a tax office. Not only do our clients have crazy good prenups, the opposing lawyers would probably hate asking for financials because some of these returns alone can number to 3000 pages or more.

Her lawyer was supposed to come after him. Her lawyer represented her and could have been accused of not representing her properly. In the end, he got the wrong person. This definitely did not hurt his wife. It just hurt his wife's lawyer, who was doing his job as he was supposed to.

The story is saying that every time the fax machine ran out of paper, the man would start over and send the 150 pages again. I think that's what it's saying.

Asking for complete financials is really common in divorce. No one was out to get this guy. His wife's lawyer was hired by her and had a legal obligation to represent her, not him. This is just stupid and petty.

What a petty psycho he is. Divorces are hard. No need to make them harder, especially when there are kids involved. No wonder she left him. She is well rid of him if this is how he operates.

Are you serious??? Did you even read & comprehend what his ex was trying to do to him FIRST? She flat-out lied & told her lawyer that this guy was "laundering money & hiding it", & her lawyer came after him. I'd say he's well rid of her if she's going so low as to accuse him of illegal activity.
