We all know the famous saying how the practice makes perfect, or in other words - there‘s a chance you‘ll get so much better at something if you keep doing it every day in order to improve.

An illustrator Lorna Kelleher wanted to check if this saying is actually true. Recently, she decided to measure her progress by recreating some of her older artworks. For this she chose illustrations of Disney princesses that she drew two years ago and remade them in a way she draws today. When you put them side to side, there‘s clearly a difference – which ones do you like better?

Okay yes but maybe not everyone is trying to make their art look exactly like the cartoons. I think that she wants to show her progress of how she can really make the later pictures jump off the page more.

well... actually on all of her drawings, she seems to have lost the innocence, both 2016 and 2018 are wonderful on there own ways, but for this subject i prefer her old ones

This is not meant to put anyone down, just to point out different personality types. People who are less adventurous will most likely go for the 2016 drawing because it's what is more familiar. The more adventurous will probably prefer the 2018 drawings because they look so much less like the original Disney characters. Either was, they're both awesome!!

With a ponytail she would look like Sam from Until Dawn.

The characters on the right have much more individuality, they're women I'd like to meet

I think they all looked better before she took her Human Anatomy course. Cartoons should really have a personality of their own, and not be locked into the rules of the real world. Just watch any cartoon from the 1990s. They are fun and free. Just don't look at the Teen Titans Go series. That ruined animation forever.

Human anatomy has nothing to do with it, both are realistic enough to be real poses. And how about you let the artist draw however she wants to. It’s good to have a unique style and not have it look exactly like the movie. The 2018 picture has plenty of personality, you just need to stop looking at the negatives In order to see it.
