Almost all of us have been stuck in quarantine for the last year. There have been moments when we were happy to have more time for ourselves, our hobbies, and families. There were moments when we were tired, bored, and sick of the four walls we call our home. But have you ever thought about how famous characters would react and what they would do if they were stuck in quarantine? Disney princesses, specifically?

Lorenza Di Sepio and Marco Barretta are Italian artists. They are better known on social media as Simple&Madama. The art duo created a 15-part series where they illustrate our favorite Disney princesses and their activities in quarantine. They told Bored Panda: "We are two Italian cartoonists. Marco Barretta and I started this project in 2012. He was born on the web, but today in Italy he has 9 publications and several issues of a magazine. The idea of the princesses was born with the coining of COVID-19. We imagined what the Disney princesses could be doing in quarantine! In all, we made 15 images, all in live streaming to keep us company with the fans!"

The artists also told us what the goal of their illustrations is: "The main objective is to entertain and make people laugh, telling the life of a couple cleanly and ironically... and more! We cover a little bit of everything, but mainly we talk to kids and couples. We are very keen to do it calmly, and without vulgarity. To create a clean and safe space on social networks."

The artists tell us when they started to create these illustrations and describe their style: "The Simple & Madama project was born in 2012, and I hope to continue for a long time! The drawing style can be defined as kawaii or chibi, Japanese-inspired. After all, we grew up between manga and anime!"

"Lorenza Di Sepio: Always with the need to tell stories and draw. She started as self-taught and then worked as a designer in the field of traditional 2D animation. She collaborated in the production of several cartoons, music videos, commercials, and animated series for TV as a character design and storyboard artist, which allowed her to do a lot of practice on storytelling. The 'Simple & Madama' web series was born from there."
