People Are Touched By This Message For Medics Left By A Discharged Coronavirus Patient
This time of turmoil and crisis has proven that the real rock stars and heroes of our times are the medical professionals. Doctors, nurses, and all kinds of medical personnel are going way beyond their own capabilities to curb the threat of COVID-19. Probably, we will never be able to truly put it into words just how grateful we are for people in the medical field.
Recently, one such thank-you note to the doctors spread rapidly on social media. In it, a discharged coronavirus patient thanked the medical personnel that took care of him and nursed him back to health.

When he started getting headaches and fever, he never thought he would become one of the first cases of COVID-19 in his home state Ohio. Nic and his family were living in a rural area, so he didn’t think that the chances of getting the virus were high. Unfortunately, our lives are full of unpleasant surprises.
After Nic’s health continued deteriorating, he was transferred to an intensive care unit in Cleveland Clinic. Nic told the media that at one point, doctors even called his wife to discuss end-of-life options. Nic was on full life support.
But every day, doctors and nurses would write goals for the day on the glass door in his room. One day, they left a very special message: “we will get you home.” Thankfully, soon enough, Nic’s body fought off the virus and he says that he got a “second chance in life.” He was extremely grateful for the care that he received, saying that he has never met such selfless people in his entire life. For this reason, he decided to leave a message for the medical personnel that nursed him back to health.
After fighting for his life in ICU, Nic was discharged and left a heartfelt message for the personnel

“We received this touching message from a COVID-19 patient who was recently discharged from the MICU,” Cleveland Clinic writes on its Instagram upon sharing the photo of the written message. “While being treated, our caregivers frequently communicated with him by writing on the glass door in the isolation room.”
The message, which soon went viral and touched many people’s hearts, read: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“This window has been the most impactful window in my life. On days when I watched you work hard to keep me and others alive, unable to thank you for the time that you poured into me—and although I will probably never get the chance to pour that same love and support into you, I want you to know that I think you all are rockstars.
I watched some of you have good nights and some bad nights but what was consistent every night was that you care for people.
Today I leave this ICU a changed person, hopefully for the better, not only because of your medical healing and God’s direction and guidance but with the fact of knowing that there are such wonderful people dedicated to the care and concern of others. God bless each of you.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I'll never forget the love and care I recieved after having to have a c-section by the hospital staff. I felt so well cared for, the devotion those ladies had was amazing
I'm glad he's well and I bet the ICU personnel appreciated the recognition. Having said that, as an atheist--well, yeah I would've preferred he not mention God (or at least not say 'God Bless you' in a letter addressed to /me/ if I'd been treating him. Just because blessing the staff directly is kind of assigning a religion to them that they very well might not believe in. Just like an atheist sending a letter that said 'thank goodness we had science to rely on instead of God' would be dismissive of any Christian caretakers he had. Both are exclusionary, and in writing a thank you letter /to/ the ICU staff, it should have focused on them and not any religion he was also grateful for. Having said that, I doubt that was his intent and I doubt any atheist staff hated the letter even if they would have preferred God not being part of the equation while thanking them. I would've still thought it a kind gesture.
I think that it is in the power of every single person on this planet to ensure that this will not happen again. No more deadly viruses, so we don't put doctors and nurses in to this dangerous situation ever again.
I'm happy he's recovered and thrilled someone still writes Thank You notes!!! I wish more people could recover from this horrible illness. Stay Healthy, everyone!

God bless this man and all of those who are caring for people like him. You may not believe in God but He believes in you!
It was an awesome message and very inspiring!! Thank you to the medical personnel that helped him walk out of that hospital. And can we leave the atheists out of the comments section next time. I get tired of them trying to stifle everyone's beliefs. Everyone has a right to believe in what they want to believe in and comment about God if the choose. If you don't believe in God..that's your right too...just worry about what comes out of your mouth and stop trying to regulate what other people say.
Aaaaand you made it weird. Please stop trying to stifle my beliefs. As for what you can do with your thoughts and prayers.... enjoy them. Share them with your family. Don't force them on me. Instead, donate to a charity that is keeping people in homes (I suggest "Modest Needs"). Or have pizzas delivered to your nurse friends.
