Discarded Tree Trunks Turned Into Stunning Wood Sculptures By Jae-Hyo Lee
South Korean artist Jae-Hyo Lee is a master of manipulation in his beautiful art. He turns discarded pieces of wood into attention-grabbing works of art that are both elegant and functional.
These incredibly sleek and beautiful sculptures are the result of Jae-Hyo Lee’s meticulous work: having assembled various chunks of wood, he burns and then carefully polishes them to create visual contrast in his sculpture art.
“I want to express the wood’s natural characteristics without adding my intentions,” says Lee. “I like to make the most out of the material’s inherent feeling. Little things add up to transmit a stronger power, greater energy. That is why I have quite a lot of large pieces among my wood artworks.”

Exquisite! Oh how to have this talent; more how wonderful to repurpose what would have been just left to rot.
I've seen chainsaw sculpted garden furniture in the Alps but these are unique.
So beautiful! I wonder why I haven't heard of him and his art before.
Gosh I wish I knew the technique he used for these pieces...they are so original, something I have been thinking doing for quite some time...but he has taken it to another level. So awesome.
Das Beste was ich in letzter Zeit in Kategorie Holzskulpturen gesehen habe. Congratulation - verry specially!
I have always had a soft spot for trees and their wood but you produced art out of them. Also love the background against which you took the photos.
So beautiful - really tactile. Your eye just melts around the curves, and into the beautiful blondness of the wood.
i love this! so talented and i love the idea of using simple wood to make awesome things out of. wish i had one or two at my house!
Beautiful - he has seen the true spirit of the trees, both trunks and branches.
