Direwolves Are Real (Sort Of)

Direwolves, since Game of Thrones rose to fame have been one of those animals that we all wish we owned. I know I’d love one. But unfortunately they are, or once were mythical, until now.

Meet Danny Direwolf. After Raven, Danny’s hooman, discovered him to be the runt of his litter in Singapore, she instantly wanted him. “I’ve had a Malamute before so I was expecting Danny to be about the same size but he just kept on growing! I don’t think he stopped growing until he was about 2 years old” said Danny’s owner.

Now living on the other side of the world, Danny and Raven tour the USA to various dog shows dressed as various characters from TV shows and anime cartoons.

Cute, but dire-wolves were real. They were a larger, more powerful animal than canis lupus, but they died out, probably because they required much more food than the normal wolf.

Could be a crossed Tibetan Mastiff. These are some of the biggest dogs and heavies. As this lady found him in Asia it's a possible.

I've been DNA tested at the vet. I'm a third generation pure malamute. My humans thought I was a cross too, that's why they got the test.

The face looks wrong and the dog's coat is too long. The dogs used in Game of Thrones are a British breed known as Northern Inuits. Google them and you'll see the difference.

A proof, you say? So a genetical check has verified that this is Canis dirus? The dog looks fantastic, but why go for this sensationalism?
