8 Times Girlfriends And Boyfriends Shared The Same Images On Instagram, But Created Absolutely Different Captions
Coming up with cool Instagram captions is probably the hardest part of an upload. If you’re also having trouble with it, here’s an idea (sorry forever-alone people, it only works if you’re in a relationship). Lately, Instagrammers have been using captions to hilariously highlight gender differences within a couple, and everything started because of a single football game.
Isabella Koval has posted a photo to Instagram, captioning it “Always a blast [with] my bff.” Her boyfriend Justin uploaded the same photo to his account, but wrote something different: “sitting here trying to explain football to this uncultured swine.” Isabella then posted a side-by-side comparison of their posts to her Twitter and all hell broke loose.
“My boyfriend rarely posts on any social media and I’m always telling him he should post more,” Isabella told BuzzFeed. “So Saturday we went to the game, and I know nothing about football, and he was trying to explain the game to me, but I was too into my food.” Some people thought Justin’s caption was insulting. The lady, however, assured it was a joke. “People are telling me to dump him, [but] everyone that knows us thinks those comments are hilarious.”
Koval’s tweet went viral, reaching nearly 200K likes and over 42K retweets. Soon, other couples started doing the same and a unique “My post vs my boyfriend’s post” meme was born. Scroll down for the funny images and let us know if you think the whole thing is innocent or hurtful.

Meet Isabella Koval and her boyfriend Justin, the couple responsible for the fresh “My post vs my boyfriend’s post” internet trend
Everything took off after this tweet
Where Isabella highlighted the difference between her and her bf’s captions for the same photo
Relating to the whole situation, other couples quickly followed
Some people thought this is only another example of men being jerks
But others viewed it as an innocent joke
Which side do you support?
Studies show, the couples who flex the hardest on social media, and who make the most declarative statements of love and affection are actually the weakest couples, lacking trust and security in their relationships. the couples with a very small social media presence tend to be the most happy. I would say there's a little bit of truth behind both captions. But if as a couple you need social media to validate your relationship.... odds are, it ain't gonna last.
Knew a girl like this and frankly, I don't care for the must post all on social media, unless I want to share my art and silly dogs. Interactions are more intimate than social media validations.
Load More Replies...“My boyfriend rarely posts on any social media and I’m always telling him he should post more,”....wait, what? Why?
"post about me or are you ashamed of being seen w/me?" it happens
Load More Replies...It'd be funnier if the captions had anything to do with the pictures. Most of the pictures seemed irrelevant to the caption tbh
I feel like my boyfriend and I are one of the few among millenials not obsessed with living life for the sake of posting it on social media.
Same here. My husband and I don't do this either. The funny thing is, we knew each other from instant messangers first (no chat flirtting, we got together after actually meeting and hanging around together)
Load More Replies...Honestly, I prefer the guys posts, they are more real, and humor is so much more important than sap in a long term relationship. ~Wanda, who has been married for -f*****g-ever and uses a LOT of humor to grease the wheels of longevity.
I don't get why this is a thread. Just seems stupid that they are posting the same picture! I don't post anything of my fiance or my daughter as we don't need anyone's approval or comments. The word is a sorry state with people looking for likes instead of focusing on what is in front of themselves
Hey- not to undermine any actually bad relationships- but in some couples "uncultured swine" is really code for "i love you" :) At least when you're dating your best friend
I guess these are fun if you want your life to look like a stock photo.
Nah. These guys are just acting like d***s. I say leave them. There are men out there who won't disrespect you.
it honestly depends on what type of person you are / your partner is. i don't like expressing my love on social media with beautiful words & stuff because it's so cringy, so i usually just put funny witty caption when i upload photos of me and my boyfriend. meanwhile my boyfriend post more sappy and meaningful caption hahaha
there is a pattern of bf being very very sexual, like LOOK AT ME I GET SOME ACTION.
Dude, chill. If your boyfriend or S/O don't post on social media a lot of course they're not going to be deep and emotional.
hahahah i would laugh myself to death if I had a boyfriend like that. So f*****g funny! Would probably do the same
funny to see that everywhre we heard that woman seek for guys with the sense of humor and when they display it it's like: OMG that guy is insensitive, gross, stupid. my girlfriend and i will do that same think. she'll say something cute (something something really stupid :-) ) and me i always try to say something funny for people to read. we need to have fun in our life, not always cute stuff. The girl do the cute stuff, the guy do the stupid stuff or the opposite.
Most of the dude s**t was jokes. The chicks were all sappy b******t meant to present a specific image of "omg I have the perfect relationship evar!!!11!!1" Especially with the Instagram posts. God, I hate IG. There's almost zero substance on it.
