Oh… irony, how sweet you are sometimes. You know how the things we say can come back to haunt us? The test of time is a tough nut to crack, and this time, it’s all about failing. The Facebook page Posts That Did Not Age Well is a hell on earth, showing embarrassing moments when quotes, comments, and everything else you saw online some time ago contradicts itself or completely misses the mark.

There’s aging like fine wine and then there’s aging like milk, and the posts here definitely fall into the latter. Some of these future predictions look so utterly ridiculous today, it may make you wonder what the heck they were thinkin’. From astounding Trump tweets to people who jinxed everything for the rest of us, there’s plenty here that’ll make you feel like dying inside.

So, let’s go down this memory lane together and take a look at everything that has gone wrong lately. If you don’t die from cringe in the meantime, be sure to check out part 1 after.

This is how science works, people. Preliminary findings are overruled when new, better evidence come out. This just shows scientists aren't coerced to toe the official line, as some claim.

If humans could see the future, this post would probably have not existed. Because there’s nothing quite like failing the test of time. All the things you believed and said look more or less absurd in retrospect. Unless your job is predicting the future for a living.

Mysterious as it sounds, seeing what comes next is complex, critical, and quite a different job than the myths suggest. Paul Saffo, a technology forecaster in Silicon Valley, wrote in a piece for Harvard Business Review that “prediction is concerned with future certainty.” And that alone sounds quite paradoxical.

Paul explains further: “forecasting looks at how hidden currents in the present signal possible changes in direction for companies, societies, or the world at large.” Thus the goal of forecasting is to “identify the full range of possibilities.”

Plus, “unlike a prediction, a forecast must have a logic to it,” says Paul. That means that the forecaster must always be able to articulate, explain, and defend this logic. “That’s what lifts forecasting out of the dark realm of superstition,” argues Paul. In the end, forecasting is “nothing more (nor less) than the systematic and disciplined application of common sense.” And that common sense is something we all have.

It has been 19 years, and my heart still aches every time I see the NYC skyline. For me it has been gone longer than it existed (I was born in the 80s), but the Twin Towers will always be iconic, quintessentially New York.

That is the truly sad part. 80,000 people didn't have to die. The US had systems in place, but since Obama set them up, they were dismantled.

No one could have predicted how badly the USA would handle this and that we'd completely ignore our entire pandemic response playbook and do pretty much the opposite of what we should have done.

I, for one, didn't expect Americans to rebel and refuse to follow the simplest instructions. As long as they are healthy (as far as they know), they have no remorse for exposing others.

We were before trump came into office. Obama and his admin had a full pandemic plan set up. trump wiped it out and fired the people who were in charge of pandemics, and similar positions.

I'm sure nobody would complain if you tried your luck in any of the other countries. Remember when the Democrats (Pelosi herself) said to go about your normal lives? Called DJT xenophobic when he banned flights from China after the outbreak? Well, of course you don't. Doesn't fit the narrative.

Australias population are 3 times larger than Sweden. Australia have had 200 (recorded) corona deaths. Sweden have had 5743. Today 1/8-20. Just saying that Australia is probably a very safe country/continent. US not so much.

Despite the death toll, the UK was actually very well prepared given the circumstances. Our hospitals never did get overwhelmed, in fact we didn't even need to use the various emergency hospitals which were prepared. Only 0.03% of the British population actually contracted the virus.

Once upon a time the UK was brilliantly prepared for a pandemic, and then austerity happened and all that preparation was dismantled. Even as the pandemic hit its stride the government didn't put back into place what they knew they had removed.

I honestly believe our (US) unpreparedness was complete and utter arrogance on the part of that asshat in the White House. He actually believes he knows more than the SCIENTIFIC/MEDICAL EXPERTS trying to combat this virus. And to the "it's a democratic conspiracy theorists" do you honestly think they'd start some s**t that kills just as many of them as it does you? It that were the case - they'd make sure he got the most virulent strain FIRST.

The problem is those in charge have to actually implement the preparations, not ignore the playbook and disband the pandemic team because it came from Obama's administration.

Trump tbh is just reminding me of a lion. He won the battle and became the new leader of our country, his "pride", and he's just killing off all the good things that Obama put there before, or the "cubs" of the previous lion. This doesn't make much sense, but please don't expect too much of someone writing this at 6:30 am and hasn't slept yet.

Science had been predicting a pandemic for a long time. A pandemic requiring PPE. Hence the original stockpiles of PPE and people in charge of planning a response.

This was very preventable if there wasn't dictators and globalists incharge. Trying to make everything open boarders and "diverse" f***s things up very quickly. It's high time we should stop relying on placea like China to make everything because we wouldn't be in this mess if each manufactured their own necessary stuff, damn the cost. Frustrating how this is the fault of lefties who literally want communist setups (this pandemic has made the world almost that way) and open boarders because racism or whatever which allows the spread of this faster. European union is hilariously crippled because of this and going to fall apart. Seriously, those who blame trump or Westminster etc should really look into how other factors contribute more than the obvious targets.

I read an interview sometime in the recent years with the son of the man who invented plastic bags. He said that, if his father knew that people use a plastic bag once and then immediately throw it away, he would have been horrified and saddened. The reason the man invented plastic bags was specifically so they could be reused over and over again

A lot of people underestimated and still underestimate the dangers of Corona and they think that the media are lying to them. ( Wonder who gave them that idea??). If history repeats itself and people behave like they behaved during the Spanish Flu, there are going to be plenty mass graves all over the world.
