The brand essence is intangible, yet it must derive from a complementary sum of its concrete elements - names, slogans, logos, and even jingles. Arguably logos, among other brand symbols, have a slightly more significant role to perform when it comes to leaving those lasting indelible impressions.

Yeah, like fire-coloured fox indicates that it is a internet browser. Or you can immediately see that logo with coloured windows would be an operational system :D Not to mention penguin, that tells you absolutely everything about linux. Logo rarely tells you anything about company/product. It should be just nice, recognisable and witty.
