Someone Proves How Badly Doordash Is Treating Their Employees By Sharing A Convo With The Support Team
Imagine a situation where you are unhappy with something. Regardless of whether that would be your recent purchase or some sort of terrible service, it all leads to the one thing most of us would gladly avoid and only turn to as a last resort. And yes, of course, we are talking about contacting support. The Internet is full of terrors as it is and these convos with support definitely don’t make it any better. That’s when reality hits with the realization of how co-dependent our society is. No matter how emancipated one thinks to be, there will always be a moment when all that’s left to do is sit with their hands helplessly crossed and wait for someone else to fix their problems. That was exactly the case when this guy from DoorDash, an American food delivery service, contacted their support about a problem and was greeted with a completely bot-like conversation. Scroll down to see the whole chat!

The Internet was really supportive of the delivery guy though, so at least he has that going for him!

Share on FacebookGod, I hate these conversations so much. "I understand your concerns" after every phrase isn't going to make anything better. Who even came up with this idea that talking to a person like they are mentally unstable is going to calm them down?
It reminds me of talking with AT&T support after the bought DirectTV NOW and turned it into a crappy service. Talking with someone in a foreign country who keeps giving you assurances everything will be taken care of, but can't display a basic understanding of the problem. Just pasting b******t canned responses.
You can request to be transferred to the US helpdesk. Not always possible, but often enough. And I make sure to thank them for their help before they transfer me.

This is so ridiculous I was actually thinking about doing doordash at night just for some extra money but after seeing this I think I am good on all that.
As The Who put it in '71: 'Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.' So it turns out the companies who run this 'gig economy' are massive a-holes when you actually work for them? You mean they just put you in a race to the bottom in the end? You mean the fact that they use a shiny new technology and are run by our fellow Millennials and claim to have a progressive mindset doesn't change any of that? 'Well all of that shocks me!' - Said no careful observer of human nature ever.
Their base is $1? Seriously?? I mean...do they not understand that deliveries take time + gas, so they need money to cover at LEAST the expense of the delivery...and I'm sure would like to make a small profit on offering their car/service to Doordash?
Stopped using door dash for our office Friday staff lunched. 1) the cheat the drivers 2) 10% "service fee" shows up AFTER you hit purchase. 3) screen shot of an order from our reg restaurant showed that in 3 months DD raised the prices of ALL the dishes by $3. We pick up ourselves and save on delivery fee, service fee, tipping. at min of $100 weekly orders we save at the least $30. F&%k Doordash
Here is one of my biggest pet peeves. Why do we get penalized as a dasher to decline a 30 mile trip to make between 5 to 10 dollars. There should be a reasonable expectation of doing a delivery..Next one is why do they send me an order 5 minutes before my shift ends thst will take at least 15 minutes or more to complete then penalized me for declining. I wouldn't mind it as long as i didn't get in trouble if i choose not to accept it. I wish we could have a better support team..and have a better structure. Last pet peeve is no feedback when we get rated. What is the point of being rated if you can't see what the customer is unhappy with. We don't know if they are unhappy with something beyond our ckntrol and its definitely not a learning experience. I have almost 800 deliveries and and high ratings in all areas except customer service which fluctuates between high and medium and i have no clue why. I enjoy my job and wish the company would really listen to our concerns.
I've had conversations like this with doordash support. I've also had deliveries that I was promised to make extra $$ for busy times and didn't. Doordash is corrupt, I wonder how much they really make off the money we should be receiving
Good article, however people delivering for doordash are not their employees. They are all independent contractors that doordash thinks they own because there will always be some young kid or broke sap to take your place if your don't agree with them and they deactivate you.
When I place orders for food through a food delivery service company, I always tip the drivers in cash. This is a college town and I know that students are taking these jobs for money and convenience of work flexibility. I didn’t realize that they are compensated at such low wages. That’s disgraceful.
What on earth is Doordash? Also, that conversation was horrendous, I feel so sorry for the poor person who was complaining any not getting anywhere.
Whenever I use DoorDash, I always tip the driver instead since I found out that the restaurant does not pass my tips onto the driver, as they would keep the tips themselves.
Spend your money on a different company that treats their employees better. That is the only way we're going to start to swing the percentage of people earning living wages with decent work environment back upwards.
Load More Replies...Given that I work in the US for an Indian owned company I can definitely tell this was an Indian run Service Desk based in India. They do not give an F about the people that work for them and attempting to get them to give up a dime is all but impossible but they will be very polite as they basically tell you to F off.
Hello please understand we're totally totally not a black company and we have full respect for our sla.... *ahem clears throat* our employees......
