Artist Who Makes People Cry With Her Comics Just Released A New One, But This Time, It’s A Happy One
Interview With ArtistJenny Jinya’s comic strips are known as notorious tearjerkers for a good reason. They often touch difficult subject matter like animal cruelty, neglect, death, and the afterlife, both educating us and sticking with us for days to come.
Some of her most powerful comics featured a black cat, a duck, an albatross, a lion, an elephant, and a dog bred to be a fighter.
But this time, the German illustrator surprised her fans and did something completely different. “By popular request, I have now tried a ‘happy’ comic,” she tweeted two days ago along with the beautiful comic which finally has a happy ending. “I was worried that my readers might be a little exhausted,” Jenny told us in an interview with Bored Panda that you can read in full down below.

Jenny just released a new strip that features a new character and ends happily
Jenny told us that she has been aware that her comics are really hard to take. “I know that and I read a lot about how close they get to people.” For this reason, she said she wanted “to try and give her fans something that would cheer them up” and won’t get them down.
As a result, she came up with the idea to draw this fox comic strip, which is the first “happy” one she has ever done. In the beginning, Jenny said she had some doubts whether “people would like this new approach, especially by introducing the new character ‘Life.'” Meanwhile, she found it very exciting to put her sad series in a whole new light.
The new character named “Life” was, in fact, inspired by the Reaper, for whom Jenny always felt sorry since he has “a sad and lonely job.” Jenny explained: “Although he has a friendly and gentle nature, he often gets blamed for everything and encounters hostility.”
It’s important to realize that the Reaper too “belongs to the circle of life.” In fact, “If anyone understands and appreciates him,” Jenny said, “it is life itself.”

And this is what people had to say
I so love death being depicted as a caring creature with an important essential but not well liked job. And I love how Life is depicted as a loving sister like character.
Also this Death and Discworld Death should totally hang out. They'd have a lot to talk about.
Load More Replies...I actually saw a fox for the first time today, he ran through my yard while I was sitting outside
Aren't they great? Back when quarantine was more strict, I saw one running through town.
Load More Replies...I have "Frog Logs" around my pool. Inflated pads in the water, attached to the sides of the pool. I've seen squirrels use them to get a drink, so I know they work, but we do still get decedents in the pool. Mainly rats, so I'm not terribly sad about it, just hate having to scoop them out, poor things.
Love this! Life should definitely be a recurring character. And perhaps an episode where a human helps an animal in trouble instead of being oblivious or cruel?
I love stories with happy endings! My heart is melting with this one ❤
"Artist who bla bla bla", write her name already. In the title. If you feel like still many people are not familiar with the artist, you can dedicate a whole article about the artist first and then refer to the said article within the content whenever you publish her new stuff.
Yes! But I have a feeling BP edits the titles, since most of them are nearly identical

This post is what introduced me to Loving Reaper almost 1 year ago. I’m now a proud patron 😄
Death is not evil. Hope that a lot of people understand that people are the ones that cause a lot of death.
I am so glad the fox survived. As you can tell, I love foxes (specifically arctic foxes) :)
Not bad at all, I ship them very hard as well ;)
Load More Replies...I was deeply touched reading this comic. it reminds me that you can see the good even in the most bad situations
The third reaction tweet. The third reaction tweet. The fandom keeps coming back to stab me in the heart at the most inopportune moments. (Did anyone else notice?)
AAAAAWWWWWWWW I love this!!!! hope animals in the world get the greatest lives❤❤
My beautiful kitty drowned in our neighbors' pool, please make pools safe for animals :(
The Grim Reaper, or Death, is not a bad guy. He's actually very good. He doesn't kill you, but he's there to make sure you don't have to go alone. He guides you.
The sixth panel reminds me of the concept of the danse macabre in late medieval European writing; it's a good illustration.
I love these so much and when it's my time I hope it's him that comes and crosses me over.
If your reading this I hope you have a great day and know. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV
I love your story I would like to know if theres a french version for my young nephews and nieces so they can realise that animal have feelings and they are not toys to be thrown away
Jenny, your stories stab me in my heart and often make me cry. It is not from the act of death. You depict death as merely a transition to another form of life and your loving reaper is a benign being that helps enable our souls to make that transition. Rather, it is often the human condition causes my pain. In the story about the cat that died by the road, it is the still living that made me cry. The cold souls who intentionally killed the cat and the kind old lady who wonders why the feral kitty hasn’t shown up to eat the food she lovingly provides both brought my tears but for diametrically opposing reasons. Just like a sad song, your works depict a sorrowful reality of our existence and yet I cannot stop myself from wallowing in the grief it elicits in me.
this comic made me realize that the artist actually can use colors apart from black, white grey, and ghostly blue. this comic also showed me that death laughing looks demonic
I LOVE how Death is depicted in this one. If you guys agree with me then read the Book Thief. It's a Holocaust story narrated by Death and it is soooo good. Makes me cry every time!
In other ways life is also depicted as the wife of death. She sends him gifts and he keeps them all. And in truth that type of friendly rivalry: an empathetic death faced always with taking losing to his wife occasionally. Just a thought
There is a comic some where that says " life is deeply in love with death she sends him all sorts of gifts and he keeps them all"
I LOVE Life's symbolism 💖 And I LOVE Death's remembrance of every living thing - never to be forgotten in his world. So a happy ending, but still some small tears. Beautiful. My giant Maine C**n and I were just outside watching a mother fox and her five kits explore our area 💖💞💓💕💗
My friend's cat fell into their swimming pool. So they die that way, too. The saddest thing, and something I really am very unhappy with her about was, she heard Tiger screaming for over 20 minutes, but thought he was have a cat-battle. NEVER went out to check on him. He didn't have to drown. She's upset because "his little paws were bloody where he tried to climb out". My cat screams for that long, I go and check.
I am enjoying her exploration of the concepts of death and life. Life is very frightening and the living often don't realize they are wielding Death's scythe for him.
Ok, happy tears, but still crying my eyes out. And still accurate, sometimes creatures and people get lucky and are snatched from death, this time at least.
Still crying, as always, after one of these. But this time happy tears!
