Artist Pokes Fun At Everyday Life Annoyances In 26 Humorous Comics (New Pics)
Interview With ArtistLife is a daily battle that we somehow need to win. However, sometimes there's no way to run away from all the struggles, so it's just better to laugh them off instead. That's the message that Anastasia 'Stushona' Ivanova, an artist better known as Comicada, is trying to transmit with her fun and entertaining comics.
Anastasia illustrates the life of her alter ego who, as the artist mentioned before, is "a reflective girl finding non-standard ways of solving problems." Her illustrations poke fun at everyday life annoyances and we cannot wait to share them with you!

The main character in Comicada comics seems to appear in absurd and sometimes even disturbing situations, either trying to deal with them in an unusual way or just accepting them as they are. Either way, the comics are filled with good humor and irony that might make one squeeze out a smile, even a little one.
For Comicada, creating comics is a way to speak with the world. She doesn't push herself and draws only when she has something to say. Other times, the artist thinks that it's better to be silent for a little while. In this way, one's brain might be filled with good and creative ideas.
We got in touch with the artist again to get to know more about her and her creative process. Anastasia shared that she has been drawing all the time for as long as she can remember. "I can't imagine my life without art and a pencil in my hand. I had no doubts about what life path to choose and what profession. After I got a higher art education, I managed to work in the IT field, in the development of characters and mascots, draw pictures and still practice it. My love for character design has motivated me to create short 4 screen comics. I didn't think it would resonate with people like that, but I really enjoy it when people smile when they look at my comics."
Inspiration for her comics Comicada finds everywhere. "I love everything absurd and funny. Sometimes a Chinese online store can inspire me, and sometimes a phrase I heard in a stream of people. You need to note these things and write them down quickly otherwise they will fly away from you."
To the question of what makes her passionate about creating comics, Comicada answered that her comics and animations have one important mission - to cheer people up. "Even if one person smiled, it's already good. Sometimes one little picture is enough to make your day. Even in the darkest times, it is a saving piece of light."
At the moment, the artist is working on several projects: "Silent comic" is a comic where there is not a single phrase or explanatory text. "The second project is not illustrative but very interesting and new to me, it is related to the book I am writing.
Lately, I rarely release anything new. In the current reality, humor seems out of place. But I see that both new and my old comics and animations still resonate with viewers. Now my work is entering a new stage, a kind of restart. How it will be, I don't know until the end, but I know it will be interesting!"
Comicada comics have also been featured on Bored Panda before. You can find them here and here.
Maybe it's just me, but I hate the squaring and thickening eyebrows fad.
Bahahaha right as I start twitching to sleep! Every time
Load More Replies...Regardless of the time, the noise that precedes the puking up of the hairball will wake the dead. It has dragged me, kicking and screaming, out of the best dreams and the best and deepest, most refreshing sleep I have ever had. You instantly go from horizontal to vertical, without bending in the middle, turn on the light to look for the spot so you don’t step in it (a horror all by itself if you’re barefoot), and go for the paper towels. But you can’t blame the cat. They give us so much love and affection, and the even groom themselves so we don’t have to, so hairballs—-which usually get expelled by the back door anyway—-are a small and infrequent price to pay.
wow people get up at nine am? what is that, the uk? here we get up around 5:30-6, south africa. Rush hour starts like at 645-7.
People don't all work the same hours everywhere in the world. Some go to work in the afternoon, evening, or work overnights. I worked overnights for a while and would go to sleep around 6am, wake up at 2pm. 😅
Load More Replies...At least the cat vomits on the floor... mine does it on the bed... gross
Amazing how we can be desensitized by certain sounds. Alarms being one. Maybe subconsciously we don’t WANT to hear it💕
Best alarm clock ever: wakes you instantly from a dead sleep no matter what time it is!
Cats, dogs, toddlers... the first gagging sound & you're W I D E awake.
You know you're a cat person when the sound of a cat puking not only wakes you, but you know exactly which cat got into the milk or something.
They should make a clock alarm as a cat throwing up , that horking sound wakes anyone straight up FAST
Hearing the yakking but unable to locate the evidence. Dammit, where is it?
Yep, my hubbie told me, my hair is different when being on my head as if being in the sink - cause it's "dead then", he said :-D
in africa we find this very strange. A pumpkin has a lot of good nutrients in it and it is delicious if you slice it and bake it with a bit of oil and the skin still on, till it caramelises. This thing of making lanterns and letting them rot is terrible. https://www.lecreuset.co.za/recipes/roasted-pumpkin/
