There are these certain things that, it seems, pretty much all dads start doing somewhere along the line after becoming a father. And no one has yet figured out why. We've got taking grilling very seriously, not wanting a dog and then having the best relationship with it, shaking a handful of peanuts before popping them in their mouth, sneezing extremely loudly—the list goes on and on and on.

One of the most dad-like things people on the internet have been pointing out for quite a while now is watching TV standing up. Why do they do that? Is there something about it we don't know? Are we missing out? The mystery remains unsolved...

With that being said, Bored Panda invites you to look through some of the best meme-worthy photos capturing dads casually watching TV. As always, don't forget to leave a comment and vote for your favorite ones!

He must stand a lot, judging by how often they play the national anthem over there

Wow another baseless comment from someone not from America, we play it just as much as any other country, once before sports games. You will rarely hear it not at a sports game.

I have a lot of respect for your dad. Sad to say, but nowadays it takes a lot of courage to show that you love your country. You are lucky to have him as your father.

In response to Mewton's Third Paw's valid but "hidden" comment asking why it takes courage to show love of country, a person can be held up to public ridicule scorn, contempt and humiliation. Further, it might trigger an Antifa or BLM member to physically assault the patriot. It may sound like no big deal but taking such a chance is a big deal. It’s the opposite of the safe position of “taking A knee” which is trending now.

Well.....standing up at the anthem. Okay. For me this counts only if you did service for your country. Anything else is just fake for me
