“Tubby was originally an inside joke between us (Jenine & Josh) back in 2016—Josh would send doodles of a goofy, round little nugget, and eventually, as his personality developed, Jenine dubbed him “Tubby”! The doodles became a big source of joy since we combined our senses of humor into Tubby’s personality, and for a while, we just started sharing his mini-stories with friends and family."

"Fast forward to 2018, while both of us were on a path towards full-time film careers—Jenine ended up being advised by her doctors to take a year off of work due to some unfortunate news with her health. And when that happened, we both thought it’d be fun for the two of us to create comics together to help keep Jenine’s mind off staying at home without work for a while."

"It helped a lot with depression and anxiety, and we thought maybe people on the internet could use some nugget content too. And when the account grew a lot faster than we had anticipated, we both decided that we wanted to keep doing this as our full-time jobs—and now, long story short, we’re here!”
