This 17-Year-Old Cat Is The Laziest Internet Star In Japan

At 17, it’s safe to say that Ura, a pretty white Scottish Fold cat in Japan, has lived a long and plentiful life. However, she hasn’t lost her spunk just yet – this Internet star still has a devoted 24,000-strong fan base on her Twitter and blog, and dresses up in cute costumes like bowties and bunny ears.

Ura-chan is suffering from renal failure, so most of her photos are rather relaxed – just like her. Her owner describes her as unfussy, chill and slow.

True cat: elegant, well dressed, pretending boredom, an obvious star, and surreptitiously nosy. She has her humans well controlled. Many cats as they age suffer from renal failure, so I'm sending peace to this beautiful creature. The best thing about the internet is our animals will live forever and not just in our hearts.

She is a beauty. So precious and I'm sad that she is now suffering from Renal failure. I also suffered from Renal Failure but was saved from death by a marvelous doctor about four years ago. Prayers for Ura who at 17 years old has lived a long beautiful live already.

Kawaiiiii! You can tell her human loves their Nekko-chan! Be well (as possible) and be happy.

Poor baby is old and sick, and needs lots of love. No negativity here.

My favourite is her peering over the edge of the table - so very much true to a cat.

Some Scottish Folds don't actually have the fold. I think it's one out of every five or so.

Sadly, kidneys can't heal like a liver can. Renal failure in cats is progressive and always means it gets worse. But her owner loves her very much and looks to be caring for her well. She'll likely not last more than another year or two but for now, she's happy and loved.
