Luckily, nowadays, trail cameras exist that allow people to watch wildlife from the comfort of their own home for purposes like research, hunting, and security. When I lived in the US we had deer come to the house regularly, so when we went on vacation we bought a deer feeder. When we got back we saw that they had learned how to reach up and bonk the opener to make more corn come out. Clever rascals.

There's a fox family on my parents' property. Every spring there are adorable little kits that run around the yard. Then they grow up and have babies of their own. We've been watching the same family for about 6 years now. One of the kits from 2 years ago likes to stop by and sit on the porch furniture.

No. There are two (I think) species of "flying" squirrel in the USA. They glide, rather than fly, using flaps of skin that they have between their front and hind legs. I've had the joy of seeing one in action up close.

If your sister was not an active employee at a large animal vet clinic or wildlife rehab at that time, let her know she s***s for us. If you're getting close enough to a moose to get bit, you are the problem. They are doubly massive, they don't just sneak up on you and take a chomp. Sis was being grossly negligent if not in line with an employment role.
