I have been writing short dialogues about my dog since he was a puppy. The intense affection I felt for this creature I could not communicate with inspired me to imagine the conversations we would have if I could.
Recently, I realized that the huge collection of stuff I had written might actually entertain other people. The problem was they were kind of boring to look at in text form. They needed to be brought to life to have the same energy and verve as my actual dog.
Enter Hey Buddy Comics' talented artist “K”. Together, we planned out a series of comics based on my stories, the start of which you can see below.
I hope you like them. There are many more to come! Find us on Instagram if you want to see them.

That's me! I really don't trust people who say they don't like animals.
Just went through this myself, It's an awful awful feeling :( R.I.P. Lucy <3
Go out immediately and find another four-legged child to fill your life! I mourned my poor Barney for nine months before I adopted PJ, and it was the best thing I could have done. Now when I see my Avatar I see Barney and my heart lights up.
Sometimes people need time to grieve before they can go out and get another pet. Getting another one so soon isn't always the best option.
Load More Replies...Oh, yeah. Yup. Many years with dogs(and cats), many losses. Always a heartbreaker. All were "family".
Oh my goodness... This got me, I'm ugly crying... We lost our black & white boy called Buddy last year. Still not over him at all... :-(
Really did not expect to tear up a bit over a few dog related cartoons, when i came to this place be honest.
They are so much apart of our lives it is so devastating when they leave. We say never. We will never suffer that again. Then there is another pair of eyes that looks at us and we are lost again.
Another life event that only people who have walked in your shoes can possibly comprehend. Those of us who truly feel that our animal children are gifts that we are privileged to care for and see through to the end can understand the pain of making that final, unselfish decision. Or the unending ache when your baby disappears and you are left wondering. Or the sudden, accidental death of a loved one. It all hurts... SOOOOO bad....
Dammit, the Weepin' Faeries are baaack... I was a blubberin' mess when I came home with Gremlin's ashes back in '97... She was only five or six, practically a baby--some stupid lung-infection got her, and by the time I could collect enough money together to get her to a vet, she was too far gone to help. The infection had pretty much filled her lungs with goo. And when her son, Putza, had to go in 2003, I was an utter wreck and I didn't have the money to have him cremated... He was only nine--complications from a damaged spine when he was younger where he'd had to have his tail amputated. It messed with his bladder-control, sometimes making it hard for him to go, so he slowly started getting worse and worse blockages that eventually meant I had to have my poor buddy put to sleep. I was too effing poor to do anything else for him. As it was, I sold anything I could just to do that. >^T.T^< I just KNOW I'm gonna fall to pieces when Diva goes--she's been with me for 18 years so far. Her health is amazing, so barring any major meanness from the Universe, she may be happy and healthy for years more, yet, but... dayyum. At least, NOW, I can afford to help her no matter what happens: if she's in pain, she'll have meds. When she got tumours, I was able to have them removed--they were benign, so no chemo for my wee kitty. She's a tough little squirt who came from a feral colony that some local kids brought to me when she wasn't even old enough to be properly weaned, and somehow, she's survived all the c**p my s****y crawl out of poverty has put us through. >^_._^< She's mostly deaf, now, and yells when she can't find "her" lap, but I love her to bits.
That made me cry. I had to say goodbye to sweet Doberman Tanzeer on December 3. He was 12 1/2 years
Or my mothers big cutie amazing big floof cat Irma. Rest in peace I only saw her a couple times and she let me hug her
I have never had a pet die before but I have a really old dog and he sorta went crazy he is going to go soon he has lost his mind soooo much we might have to put him down! 😭 just thinking about it makes me devastated!!!!!!!!
I thought this was going to be happy and fun and then you kick me in my feelings... and now im just crying and remebering my little Loke. <3
Man this hurts so bad, and I never even had my own dog.. I feel your pain.
Warm gooey feelings captured in little colored boxes. This is what Boredpanda was made for.
I love both cats and dogs and currently own two small furry kitty babies but I also REALLY want a puppy. Ive never had one before :(. I also wanted to say that you can bond and feel this much love with cats too! People think that cats are cold creatures, but that's not true. They're just quieter and communicate in different ways with humans.
I have a dog now, i've always had cats. It's hard when they are small, just like having a baby (keep that in mind - first year is hard!) - but where as I loved my cats and had a special bond with them, it is nothing like the bond I have with my dog. It's a whole new level of love I didn't even think I was capable of.
Load More Replies...My second comment in here. (Been here for years) But just have to say: these are so so great.. Thank you.
Beautifully done. I don't even like dogs much (I say as I sit here cuddling mine), but I really liked your comic.
These were adorable! Let's not think about the 12 years thing, though.
love dogs so much owned big ones, small ones, medium ones, each one so loyal this artist here seems to get it :) they're family- but with shorter lives, perhaps, and more hair
