Adorable Predators Vs. Their Prey

Cute and disturbing cartoons define Chicago artist Alex Solis’ style. Known as alexmdc online, he’s been drawing his whole life but won internet acclaim for his Chunkies series of overweight superheros and pop-culture icons. Solis’ latest project features adorable drawings of predators devouring their smiling prey.

Much of Solis’ work is inspired by his daughter. The idea for Chunkies, for example, came to him after watching Ninja Turtles and discussing healthy eating. Another collaborative project was designing images to go along with American Sign Language signs.

I love it. Macabre approach, love the smiles on the prey. Circle of life and all that. And yup. It's cute cuz of the big eyes.

Exactly the same question I asked the teacher when I was 10l, why do you tell us that wolves are evil just because they are carnivore? They are all animal and hunting for their own survival. These series of graphic challenges our prejudice of animals because of their look but not who they.

It's a part of nature, animals killing animals no matter how you illustrate this. Depicting humans killing animal - that, to me, would be quite disturbing.

Although not quite accurate, that isn't really the point, is it now all you people below me? It's cute and funny, and I personally think the predator is cuter than the prey.

The smile on the face of prey is quite disturbing. Seems like they all know their fate and succumb to it without much complaint.

I think the one that was most disturbing was the turtle and the seagull.

The tiger and zebra look like they're spooning. Where did they meet anyway? Must be in a zoo.
