When you think of a man's best friend, a pet cow is probably not the first thing that pops into your mind! And that's a shame because these adorable cows are more similar to dogs than you think - and Bored Panda has made a compilation of photos to prove it!
Just like dogs, these cute cows love to cuddle; they give kisses, get curious, play with a ball, and enjoy good old back rub. And there's such a variety between them - from huge fluffy cows to tiny miniature cows; there's an adorable animal for everyone to love. And don't start us on the charms of baby cows!
We hope this will encourage you to see them as sensitive animals, which they are, and inspire a more ethical treatment of these magnificent creatures.

Just an FYI this is a veal calf - this calf is kept in it's tiny enclosure - it will never feel pasture grass under it's feet, it is fed only milk when it should be weaned and eating grains and grass - it will be slaughtered well before adolescence, while it is still young and at the beginning of its life, all for your dinner. There is nothing cute about veal.
Incorrect. This is a dairy farm calf. The calves are raised in doghouse-like shelters with room to stand and walk around. They will either become milk cows or sold for beef or breeding.
Load More Replies...What a very sad picture. I've seen calves in these containers here. Even in the baking heat
Poor little one, the only chance to experience nature. This is no life for calves
Poor innocent baby. That snowflake is one of his only joys in life.
The comment from KHansen Yoga below should make us all ashamed, and moved enough to do something to stop this horror.
Except for the part where it's factually inaccurate. But, y'know, aside from facts.
Load More Replies...this is so sad these poor little babies ripped away from their moms and stuck in these tiny little pods and than butchered for veal ..... not cute at all very very sad
ripped from its mother upon birth and stuck in this crate to keep his " meat " tender. All for someones 10 minutes of glutinous pleasure.
A cow is a female and this post uses he and cow in the same sentence referring to the same animal.
As a little girl I loved veal. When old enough to understand what and where it came from I could not touch it, a terrible practice so cruel. Just as bad as Stuffing food down a gooses neck to make a pate.
This calf would have been taken from his mother at birth so that humans can steal the milk that she produces for him. He will never know her love and will be kept in isolation in this small, cold, baren crate until he is sold to god only knows where.
soon to be savagely murdered for some selfish humans 10 minutes of glutinous pleasure
Everyone commenting must never eat beef or dairy. And obviously have never been on a dairy farm.
Can't eat veal! Poor Baby....at least he gets some enjoyment in his short little life.
At least he gets to play for this day....hope the person filming this let him live!
Yeah sure they let him live - money, money, money, no heart.
Load More Replies...HORRIBLE CALFS IN VEAL CAGES. SHOULD BE OUTLAWED. TORTURE OF INNOCENT BABY DOES SO IDIOTS CAN EAT VEAL.
Want to adopt them. They feel emotions the same way we do. The human race is evil. Nothing cute about this!!!
Very sad really, should roam a field not stand in a s****y little tent thing.
Too sad! This calf will be your veal cutlet, soon. This calf is taken from it's mom, kept in a small pen, then slaughtered.
This is very very sad, hes thirsty and needs hes mother, just as animal human babies do
Its disturbing that something van be so cute, while Being in such a horrible situation
I feel sadness for this baby even though he's finding enjoyment in his captivity
This is so ucking sad. Please please don’t support this treatment of these sweetsmart Animals, they want to live and be loved.
# 7 is NOT cute or endearing.. these are calves that have been ripped away from their mothers, denied water and other life sustaining needs in preparation to them.becomong veal!!! Its inhumane treatment.
I don't like this this is not there normal habitat. Tiny enclosures, no real life for them...humans are cruel and unjust in what there doing. All creatures deserve to live... big and small. I really ashamed to be apart of the human race. What a dumb breed we are, full of greed and look at me. Feeble creatures. Stop eating meat 💚
Well just for your information this is a heifer calf being raised for several weeks being fed milk grain and hay, when she is weaned. She will be in a barn or open space until she is about 15 months at which time she will be bred to calve at 24 months. She will never be mistreated as the more milk she makes the better for the farmer. You are wrong with your PETA or HSUS rhetoric. You should know the truth and not spread c**p? Also see #12.
I dont eat veal for that very purpose. It's cruel the way they are kept.
How can any part of a cow be referred to as HIS? A male cow? Really?
Why I refuse to eat any animal. Why is the poor adult less entitled to live than the young?
Load More Replies...FYI, for some reason I made a reply to one comment and it was put as a reply to all comments.
The calf catching snowflakes actually lives in a veal crate - crates in which calves are kept immobilized for six weeks before they are slaughtered for veal.
Humans are going to be extinct in about 10-15 years. No great loss there.
ROFL I'd LOVE to see that research. Source please.
Load More Replies...We should staple tags to the ears of the people who do this for a living and throw them in a cage in horrid conditions and see how much they like it.
I totally agree with KHansen. This is animal cruelty at it worst. I do not condone veal or fois gras.
this animal is essentially living in a large dog kennel. not cute, people.
yes, this poor animal is essentially living in a large dog kennel. this is not cute, people.
His curiosity of snowflakes is a real display of sentience which only highlights the cruelty if what awaits :(

Load More Replies...Cows are wonderful animals. Such loving creatures. I want to find one to hug now.
You think that until you try and milk one that's in a bad mood and she smacks you in the face with her poop covered tail. Or - as on one memorable occasion, I went into a stall to check out a sore hoof, and she was so relieved when I picked up her foot (it was just a rock stuck in there) that she leaned her entire 1000 pounds plus on me.
Load More Replies...I think I wont be able to eat beef after this post...They are so cute. I have seen cows before, but they would always run away from me when I tried to approach them.. :'(
Don't understand why some people mistreat cows, this list is a proof that they are really different from what they are usually described. Most people think that they are dumb and sometimes even dangerous animals. But in fact, great deal of them are kind and gentle souls and some people should really take a leaf out of their book.
Due to modern Lifestyles nowadays people are far from understanding simple things like the fact that real milk (without added preservatives) goes bad in the fridge in 2-3 days and also the fact that cows are quite intelligent. In the village with dozens homes and streets cow will always find it's way home when coming back from pasture, just like a dog!
Load More Replies...I lived in a rented house on a dairy farm as a tween and cows are indeed very affectionate. They love having their heads scratched, but man those tongues are huge, long, slobbery, and not well controlled lol. They always wanted to lick me for some odd reason. As an adult i now plan to get a few as pets when possible. They are so sweet.
These are all so sweet until you realize that the owners and their children will sell or kill these beautiful animals for profit without a second thought. I wonder if cows feel betrayal?
My favourite thing about cows is that they have best friends and they become distressed if they're separated for too long
Cows' coats are very soft and their noses are moist. They are very sweet.
I love cows, they're very friendly even when they've never seen you before. I use to live in the country and our neighbour had pet cows who would mow their lawn and the cows often came right up to the fence and moo at me lol.
Does this poster actually not know what a calf is, or is it a spelling issue?
Well, they're not much like dogs... domestic animals will often cuddle with people! Horses are still my top ungulate.
Wonderful pics! But really, "a man's best friend"? Its 2020. Women and non-binary people exist.
Why would anyone in their right mind want to eat the flesh of these beautiful creatures?
Cattle. When you say cow you are speaking of the female. It's like talking about humans and saying women.
Can we not enjoy the beauty of an animal without turning it into a meat eater vs vegetarian/vegan argument? We can all still love the animal despite what we choose to eat.
How can you love the animal and then eat it?? A bit twisted really.
Load More Replies...Yeah, a real crisis if they have to shoot the livestock in stead of slaughtering them for food! Jikes!
