I Painted 26 People As Disney-Worthy Cartoon Characters, And Here’s The Result

For the past few years, I have been painting these adorable Disney and Pixar animation-worthy characters.
From real to fictional characters, I envelop my charming subjects with vibrant colors and lights assisted by a digital tablet and photoshop. I bring out their cuteness during the semi-realistic creation process, in which I aim for unique colors and style meticulously crafted for years.

I don't feel like their personalities are the same with these two pictures. Amazing pictures though
I'm just not understanding the proportion aspects. Why so alien-esque on such a beautiful woman. The consistency in doing so, despite it not being all of the works, has to mean it's intentional. What an interesting style, though it's definitely not Disney and that comparison is kind of unfair really.
Would this be the stoned club kid that's been punched in the mouth look?

This artist chooses very aesthetically pleasing subject matter,so much so, that the original photos look drawn too!!! These are fantastic, but I'd like to see the subjects be average looking people too....

Even if you can't define easily what "average" means, I think everybody can undestand what JessG meant, that is: "not beautiful like a god".

I think it's very talented work, but you need your own label. I don't think any of them had the "Disney" style. More like Bratz dolls.

JoAsLin, your artwork is fantastic, but not because it is beautiful. Your extraordinary skill is that you can see and recreate even the seemingly least important features of a face and by this you fully preserve the style, mood and characteristics of each individual. Wonderful job!

The fact that all the subjects were cute prior to being disney-ized, definitely helps.
Uhm... not much. Most of them look more interesting in real life than the drawn versions. But there's a good casting work and they may inspire the drawer to create new characters.

Very good job on the pictures, it's really not the artist's fault that nowadays 'Disney-ing' really just consists of shrinking the head into a small ball, and exaggerate the hairstyle and especially the eyes 100 times.

I am sure that Joaslin got permission first, but these artworks are so disrespectful, particularly from a cultural / minority perspective. “Here, let's take these Instagram Girls and shop them all into the same fly-eyed girl with a teeny tiny button nose and plump, pouty lips.” Essentially erasing anything that doesn’t fit some kind of weird, super unhealthy, quasi-ambiguous Gen Z ideal of beauty that nobody fits into. Just straight up erase the thin lips of the Asian girl, the almond eyes of the black girl, the round face of the white girl, and lets make them all have saucer eyes, thin faces, noses that are somehow button shaped and pointy, and giant lips. Pixar and Disney started this shit and I cannot imagine the damage it did to the psyche of young girls. You can even tell in the original Insta photos that a few of these young women have contoured the fuck out of their faces, noses and lips to fit that beauty standard. On top of that, this is SO played out and unoriginal.
I agree. It’s clear from some of the female models’ poses that they have internalised this look. Whether they’ve photoshopped themselves or photographers have done it for them, they are all quite homogenous.
