“I’m So Tired Of People Like You”: Man Can’t Stand In Silence Hearing A Karen Insulting McDonald’s Employees And Steps In

Sometimes people forget that workers at various places serving food or the cashiers at retail stores are real people with their own lives, problems and emotions. The so-called Karens come and insult them, although the workers are just doing their jobs.

Not all customers are like that and a video that went viral on TikTok proves that. It shows a man lecturing such a Karen for how she talked to the employees and he was kind of harsh because the woman couldn’t understand what she was doing was wrong, but people appreciated his effort to defend the employees.

More info: TikTok

A man who was fed up with Karens making service employees’ day miserable stepped in and put one in her place

The video was posted by the girlfriend of the person who recorded the interaction, thetrooper47. The video caption says, “Went in for a shamrock shake and this woman was insulting the workers.”

In the comments she also said that the daughter of the woman tracked down the videos on the internet and is getting them removed. Even the link that thetrooper47 provided in the caption of the video to a full-length one on YouTube is not working as it shows that it isn’t available anymore.

He speaks up because according to the person who posted the viral video, a Karen was insulting the employees

But the video on TikTok is still up and now has 1.7 million views and 225k likes. It shows just a bit of the conversation that went on and we don’t really know what the woman was telling the employees, we can just assume that it was insults like the poster wrote in the caption, and another customer couldn’t stand by in silence and intervened, defending the employees who, in the clip that is available, seemed to be simply doing their jobs and not engaging in confrontation with the Karen.

The man defended the McDonald’s employees and said that people like her make people hate working at places like McDonald’s

From what the man says, it is clear that this isn’t the first time he has witnessed such a situation and he thinks that people like the woman in the video are part of the reason why McDonald’s is struggling with finding employees as angry customers just add another layer of unnecessary anxiety.

Interactions with customers in retail and food service jobs are usually unavoidable and actually are a big part of the work. So it’s no surprise that they can really ruin your day and if you read any online forums related to the topic, go to TikTok or YouTube, you will probably really quickly be exposed to ‘customers from hell’ stories.

He actually became quite aggressive with his words and the woman wanted the police to arrive

Eventually she changed her mind and thought she was punishing the restaurant by not ordering any food

The man in the video suggests that Karen just leave if she feels that the service at McDonald’s is not up to her standards and when she hushes him, he doesn’t restrain himself from cursing at her.

This explosion of emotions probably scared the woman and she asked the employees to call the police. Then she wanted to see the manager and finally she changed her mind and said she didn’t want the food anyway. The man wasn’t at a loss for words and replied that she didn’t need the food.

Below you can watch the man putting a Karen in her place in action

Other TikTok users were quite fascinated by the interaction because they felt satisfaction of a Karen being put in her place. They appreciated the man standing up for the employees who can’t do that themselves without risking getting fired for mistreating a customer.

What are your thoughts after watching the video? Why do you think some people are just not capable of being nice? Would you have done the same as the man in the video if you saw innocent employees being berated? Let us know your opinions in the comments!

People in the comments appreciated the man standing up for the employees and found the interaction satisfying

I can't understand people who get off on demeaning service workers. Is your life that sad and crap that you have to take it out on people who are just trying to do their job? Do you really need to feel superior to them that badly? Is your entire self-esteem built on putting other people down? Zero empathy, and zero class. People like that need a taste of their own medicine.

They suck. Karens suck. Just ... be kind to people you interact with, nothing special, just make it a routine, and, what a surprise, some even return that. Some don't. So ... so? Then they don't, wether they suck or just have a bad day ... maybe next time? Being a little bit kind is all that is asked for, and that even is for free and doesn't harm you, quite the opposite...

Some here in the comments are disappointed he was "rude" to her. That is what caused these problems. No one calls out the bad behavior for fear of not being polite. Screw that she needed and still needs a wake up call. If this happened every time she misbehave it would stop. Regrettably, to many are more concerned with polite than right.

Here too, until you add a real world cost to the perpetrator for bad manners, they are not going to stop choosing to place themselves above societal norms. Once it becomes frightening to be rude, people like this will fall in line. If you even want to keep this in your genepool at all, that is. Those that refuse the carrot, thereby choose the stick.

If he'd stood up for the workers without being an a*****e himself I'd be sympathetic, but after watching the video I was just as annoyed with him as I was with the woman. Lots of better ways he could have made his point besides swearing and shaming. You have to show people the right way to behave by behaving the right way yourself.

Why be rude to service workers if it wasnt for them you wouldnt have your fast food or ridiculous oat creme extra coco nibs half n half coconut froth milk latte macchiato (yeah I know that isnt a thing but you hopefully get what I mean by ridiculous "starbucks" type orders) shiz . Theyre just working to earn a wage like the rest of us working folk. Why do service workers always get a bad rap as a job. For some it may be the difference between being able to turn the lights on or having food on the table, some it may be a stop gap to pay for driving lessons around school/college whilst they work towards a degree. Who cares - at the end of the day a job is a job.

I think in some sick way they're winning the argument in their heads. I honestly think they're that delusional. I watched a man argue with a cashier after she didn't refer to his cigarettes by their brand name. He threw a fit and walked out of the store with a smug grin like he'd just won an argument with Einstein.

Since there was nothing about what the woman said, it's impossible to judge. A big man said threatening, vulgar and insulting things to a woman. He used profanities. He, significantly more overweight than the woman, told her she didn't need a shamrock shake. If he had stood up for the employee I would have been impressed, but how he handled it was not acceptable.

He did stand up for them. The fact that you mention his gender and size just shows your bias. The woman is vulgar and insulting, and the fact that she is a woman means nothing. You think he should just let her act the way she did because she is a woman. I'm guessing that you agree with her "right" to act like a b***h.

At church we have a saying "We have learned by sad experience that it is the nature and disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority, as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise unrighteous dominion." D&C121:39

I think in some sick way they're winning the argument in their heads. I honestly think they're that delusional. I watched a man argue with a cashier after she didn't refer to his cigarettes by their brand name. He threw a fit and walked out of the store with a smug grin like he'd just won an argument with Einstein.

This lady has the communication skills of a c rickety wheelbarrow with squeaky wheels. Good for the virtuous soul pushing that away and letting everyone get on with their lives.

I had a YT video go viral a few years ago of the same kind of thing. Woman lost her mind at Jack in the Box employees because they were out of mango lemonade. Then she turned her rage on me because she realized her behavior was being documented. Clap if you've seen it.

So if women complain about bad service they can expect men to call them bitches, other people to film them and good old bored panda to host a misogynist pile on. Be nice women, you’re here to make everyone happy.

You get what you pay for. Don't over expect the 2 for $6 deal. If you want better service, you will need to pay more. That is just how it is.
