We are good with healthy food, but our portion size is OUT OF CONTROL.

Not true: most Italians break spaghetti. Moreover, "mama" is wrong. Correct word is "mamma".

The left hand in India is used for cleaning oneself after using the toilet---never to be used when eating! That is what this cartoon is all about.

It is custom to eat and shake with the right hand because the left hand is for wiping your butt (although, they wash their hands too now most have running water).

I think a lot of people are missing the point here. In India the left hand is considered to only be used for dirty/unclean things. e.g. People use water rather than toilet paper to wipe, and certainly don't use their right hand to do it. So to force an Indian to only use their left hand to eat is actually really disgusting.

For those of you who don't get the joke: They don't use toilet paper, they use their left hand to wipe their butt.

Look up WHY, folks, if this seems like a "dominant hand" issue only.

We Indian, mostly eat from right hand, as we are right handed! The Indians who are left handed eat with left hand! Quite simple, isn't it!

They eat with their right hands because the left hand is used for wiping your a*s. That’s just nasty.

The left hand is for toiletting so it's offensive to pass them things using your left hand. It's a show of disrespect. This taboo is also adopted by many South East Asian countries with Indic influence in the past (for example Malaysia)

Indians would probably be horrified to know that most Americans wipe with their dominant hands and most Americans are right-handed.

As Indians, we believe that only the right hand must be used while eating. The left hand is used for all other purposes. That may be considered a way to maintain proper hygiene. (however, certain times it becomes quite difficult for leftists)
