Crow Rides On The Back Of An Eagle In Once-In-A-Lifetime Photos

Phoo Chan, a talented California-based bird photographer whose photos have been featured by National Geographic, has captured an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime series of photos of a crow landing and riding on the back of a bald eagle mid-flight.

According to Chan, “Crows are known for aggressively harassing other raptors that are much bigger in size when spotted in their territories and usually these ‘intruders’ simply retreat without much fuss. However, in this frame the crow did not seem to harass the bald eagle at such close proximity and neither did the bald eagle seem to mind the crow’s presence invading its personal space. What made it even more bizarre was that the crow even made a brief stop on the back of the eagle as if it was taking a free scenic ride and the eagle simply obliged.”

As strange as this photo may be, it’s not the first time that such a rare and unexpected sight has been spotted by a photographer – check out the baby weasel that took a ride on this woodpecker!

NO lol it is not riding on the eagle. I see their interactions daily and the eagle was more than likely near the crows nest and the crow is attacking it. They bounce off them with their feet. You should see the eagle do a cool manuever where it flips upside down and and away from the crows. They go after the eagle for like 10 minutes and other crows join in. FACT

http://www.spirit-animals.com/raven/ It's strange how Crow and Raven are seen as negative images in most cultures. I was brought up with Haudenosaunee beliefs, where Crow and Raven are very sacred and respected beings. In fact we believe that Crow made People. She was up to no good at the time, as she always is. Most First Peoples tribes that I've known also hold Crow and Raven sacred because they bring change and they knock the things that we consider known and solid off balance. They are among our favourite story characters as children, because they are mischief makers and remind us that life is play. As totem animals they are messengers are change and magic. https://www.thoughtco.com/the-magic-of-crows-and-ravens-256…

The Eagle represents spiritual protection, carries prayers, and brings strength, courage, wisdom, illumination of spirit, healing, creation, and a knowledge of magic. The eagle has an ability to see hidden spiritual truths, rising above the material to see the spiritual. So cute. This is a message from animals. They are saying, " we are not stupid beings because we can't do math. " We think ,make choices, feel pain, and all the basic needs to survive. Yes, animals don't judge, hate, and revenge. Like humans , but they don't like the negative energy humans put out . For example, my neighbors abandon their cat. For a month he stand on our porch. Never went when thy call for him to eat until they feed him and gave him attention. He continue to go other there , but they never again paid any attention to him. He has high hopes of getting back in the house with a family who don't care anymore. He comes to us for food when they give him dog food. We give him attention and shelter when he wants it. Sadly we can take on another cat. It was hard for us to get a place with two cats. Animals are smarter then humans give them credit, but we are so blind by religion . We don't see it. Science and animals all over the world see trying to prove it.

I had a neighbor leave 2 cats inside their house when they moved. They both were locked inside with no food and only a dripping sink until they finally escaped. One died and the other one is now living in my yard. She has a home if she wants to come in but she will not stay inside. She will come inside yup eat and get out of the heat and then go right back outside. It took us about 3 months just to be able to pet her, then another 4 months to get her to even walk to the doorway with the door open. She would come in in the winter months but we had too keep the door open for her or she would flip out thinking she wad going to get locked in again. Now she will come in and lay on the couch and sleep for a couple hours with the door closed but she will not stay inside.

Interesting behavior, but that "baby weasel that took a ride on this woodpecker" was in fact a predatory attempt - that woodpecker was nearly killed! "The least weasel's signature move is to sever the spinal cord of its prey with a bite to the neck, which is exactly what we're seeing in the photo" - http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2015/03/150303-weasels-woodpeckers-animals-science-weaselpecker-photos/

NOT FAKE!!! He is a well known photographer for National Geographic. These pictures are also on the National Geographic site. Also, see snopes for verification that this is not fake. http://www.snopes.com/crow-rides-eagle/

Hardly once in a life time. I've captured this happening multiple times, and that's just this week.

The eagle must've been raiding the crow's nest. The crow then attacked to drive the eagle off.

Shows too how patient and tolerant is the eagle; he could kill the crow in an instant if he wanted to...

Is the photo of the eagle and the crow real or photo shopped? My brother says it's not real. Can any body help us know?

I love how the eagle is completely nonplussed by this event.
