I worked in retail while I was in college and we offered a military discount but you had to be the one that actually served. There were several times the spouse (I remember it was always a wife) got mad that they couldn’t receive the discount.

so for being someone's spouse, you want free alcohol? how about you tell us the perks you DO get for being a military spouse: free education. free healthcare. discounts at national parks. free on-base classes. legal assistance. military spouse tax benefits. marriage and family counseling. military spouse scholarships. transferred GI bill benefits. commissaries and exchanges where you buy groceries at cost and don't pay sales tax. Military spouses are given preferential employment placement in vacant Department of Defense (DoD) civilian positions. Shall I go on? Pay for your $12 glasses of wine and count the myriad benefits you DO get as a military spouse. Not to mention having a partner you can be proud of; who is literally willing to lay down his life to protect our precious and dearly-bought freedoms.

Let's not forget, a lot of people with this same entitlement mentality serve their minimum 4 years and then become cops. Not saying all cops are bad, but let's recognize some are.

OKay first of all it's not you in the freaking military so y the heck would you think your entitled to it (this isn't necessarily correct, I pretty sure there are military family discounts sometimes and have someone in the military can take a toll on families), second of all, not even the ones actually in the military get thing free! Maybe they get a discount every once in a while but that's it! JUST WHY!!!

The wife doesn't serve the military she only gets the Healthcare, living on base & shopping at the Px discounted, thats all I'm aware of as my mom was married into military for awhile and those were the only benefits she received after marrying this horrible, evil being that should've never been allowed to defend this country

I hate military spouses who try to "wear" the rank and privilege more than their spouse who actually serves. As a member of a military family, I understand the whole family makes sacrifices but some spouses try to take it to a ridiculous and infuriating level.
