Here at Bored Panda, we have random facts, mind-blowing facts that are perfect for 5 year-olds, facts that can even change your perspective of things, and facts that sound utterly fake but are totally true.
But this time we rolled up our sleeves and compiled a list we can call “the palate cleanser.” You see, this one is not for the faint-hearted, nor for the ones with high blood pressure and a tendency to have a nightmare or two every now and then, ‘cause today, we're gonna dive into the facts we wish we never knew.
You may wonder, why read them, then? It’s for the same reason we watch horror movies with covered eyes. Getting to know some creepy stuff about the world is hard, but not knowing it is even worse.

I was a paramedic for 15 years and heard dozens of people's final words. The phrase I heard most often, possibly from half to three quarters of them, were some form of "I don't feel so good." I've also heard, "Wait, somethings wrong." "Somethings happening." "I don't feel right." "Wait, somethings wrong." "It's happening." "Oh no, Oh no."
People feel the blood leaving their brain I think. Must be like a rush.
I remember listening to a few 911 calls on youtube when people said these words when they died...those gave me gooosebumps..

You’re not the only one to get the creeps from scrolling through this post. There’s something about being creeped out that is both chilling and yet impossible to resist. But what exactly is this creepy feeling we all get? It surely can’t be graveyards, clowns, spiders, or horror movies themselves.
Frank McAndrew, a professor of psychology at Knox College in Illinois, has been studying this sensation and made a conclusion after surveying more than 1,300 people that “Creepy is about the uncertainty of threat.”
There is a whale called 52 Blue that only sings at a frequency of 52 Hertz, meaning it can't communicate with other whales. It is nicknamed the "loneliest whale on the planet."

Also, when close to the peak, the oxygen levels are so low that the body is starting to die. You only have a few minutes to reach the top.
My teacher told this to my class when I was in 5th grade (10 years) and I still remember me going home and crying for all those who died on their way.
More specifically, Frank said, “You’re feeling uneasy because you think there might be something to worry about here, but the signals are not clear enough to warrant your doing some sort of desperate, life-saving kind of thing.” Thus, it’s different from having a fear of something or revulsion.
According to Smithsonian Magazine, when you’re creeped out, your brain and your body are telling you that something is not quite right and you’d better pay attention because it might hurt you. We become more alert and ready to strike whenever the threat turns out to be real.
During the French Revolution, where the guillotine was introduced, the people to be executed fought to be first, as the blade would dull after multiple uses and wouldn't cut a head clean off at the first attempt.
Guillotine is one of the most merciful ways to be killed. I'd rather my head be cut off instantly with a giant blade than other slower ways.

And it isn't an instantaneous death. After a heart attack, when the heart is no longer pumping blood to the brain, it remains conscious for from 5-15 seconds, aware of what has happened. There's a legend about French scientist le Comte de Lavoisier that he had a friend count his eye blinks after he was guillotined and he reached 16 but it remains unproven.
There is even more evidence: The murderer Languille, executed in 1905, was able to open his eyes and look at the person calling his name twice within about 20 seconds. In 1989 a man had a car accident where is friend sitting next to him was decapitated and the head landed right in front of him. He could see the head looking back and forth to his body, grimacing as he realized what happened, then his eyes glazed over and he died.

Another fact: the guillotine was last used in september 1977 for the punishment of a murderer who tortured and killed his girlfriend after she reported to the police that he had tried to force her into prostitution.
Mary Queen if Scots had to have two blows from her executioner. This was not uncommon.
Especially since the last guillotine execution in France actually happened in 1977!!

There’s something called “Anaesthesia Awareness” where of certain people go into surgery and they don’t give you enough Anaesthesia, it will look like you’re asleep (eyes closed, not talking or moving), but the patient can still hear and feel everything that’s happening, but here’s the scary part. You’re unable to move, speak or open your eyes. Unless they have a monitor to show your brain activity, you’re stuck with having to endure the pain.
i have read of people waking up in the middle of operations suffering pain but unable to let someone know. Apparently if they notice things like pulse and heart rates will indicate something is wrong
Being the oldest person alive means that every single human being who was alive at the day you were born has now died.
Another thought is - the exact moment you were born, you were the youngest person alive.

If you have to move them into a new enclosure, they scream. It's just what they do when they don't like things. You can pick up a baby piglet and it will scream like you're trying to do it the most awful harm in the world.

Hey did you know that once, someone sued Mtn. Dew for finding a rat in their soda and they took them to court. Mtn. Dews' rebuttal said that was impossible because the rat would dissolve after a few months. They proved it and won. THIS IS WHY YOU DONT DRINK MTN DEW!!!
Fun fact: female rabbits will think they’re pregnant every year. Why? Because rabbits are literal sex machines. Also, they make nests from their own fur and fur from other rabbits just pulling it out anxiously and running to the nest and make it more comfortable. Even if they’re in a group with females only they’ll do it.
