This Artist Shows How Pop Culture Icons Would Look In Real Life, And It Will Give You Nightmares
When you think about your fondest childhood memories, some of them probably include the famous characters from cartoons that popped up on your TV screen every morning. You probably won't feel the same way about these popular characters after seeing this post.
Australian digital artist Wil Hughes, who studies animation at Griffith University in Brisbane, has a unique talent. He turns beloved, usually family-friendly pop culture icons into real nightmare fuel that looks like they clawed their way straight out of Hell. If you've never thought of Homer Simpson, Where's Waldo, or Spongebob as horror characters before, you will be now. Let's be honest, though, and we were all a little creeped out by Ronald McDonald, to begin with. Through his masterful use of shading, he creates realistic textures that give his 3D drawings a horrifying look.
Though Hughes' 3D art is definitely unsettling and he's developed quite a fan base that argues that it's quirky and original. Check the 3D paintings out (at your own risk) below, and get ready never to sleep again.

How they would look in real life?? Bored Panda posts really need to work on their misleading titles...
Hm. Kind of silly that some of them are looking nearly like they do in the cartoon or whatever they came from and some of them just look like a horror vision and nothing like I would think they would look like in rl. Also I think it would be cool to see it in a more realistic style. The art style reminds me more on an animation style. So, I think mike wazowski looks the same, just as a horror vision. Also I think there are better characters to show a 'realistic' change, like how it is done with homer simpson. Patrick Star or characters like that doesn't suit a realistic vision bc, we know how a seastar looks in real. But, at least I like some of them a lot and like the gloomy and dark touch of them. I just wouldn't call them 'a realistic vision'
The description is wrong. There's nothing "real-life" to this. This is an artist's take on 3D-modeling of Pop-Culture Icons.
The title is misleading. Some aren't even animated characters (Mr Bean) and many are made to look gruesome. Also many names are wrong.
Honestly, these aren't "Real life" they're just horror versions of characters
What? I'm so confused and I hope they know it's Squidward Tentacles not Tennisballs. You know cause he's a squid.
Why does "real life" equate to creepy monsters now? That is NOT how Spongebob would look in reality. Some of them look pretty good. The rest....needs more work. Not the skill. Just better imagination.
"pop culture icons"? this guy spends his time seeing sponge bob. But that's a good work
Got several names wrong had two krustys and that last one was dumber than the others just for bein hidden what retards came up with this s**t
Is this guy not good with fur or is Courage actually a hairless dog? That and Murdoc's hair isn't hair and Spongebob should have been an actual sponge. O.o Doesn't look like it's them in real life to me.
This artist is seriously sick! I have to admit I love how he portrays the clowns though. I've always thought clowns were hideous and scary too. His pics just prove it to me. *L*
no big deal. diffidently not gross or "clawed their way straight out of hell" or nightmarish. very disappointing
Hey, Stupid People: At least get the f*****g names right: Squidward Tentacles, not Tennisballs. WALDO, not Wally. MIke Wazowski, not Googly Bear. I'd go on, but the stupidity burns, and I just gave up. BTW, Ronald McDonald is a REAL person in clown makeup; That doesn't require translation. He really doesn't look anything like that.
Can tell this is Rick and morty fan outta there making a difference with mad art skills...good work
This is something that a parent would be well advised not to allow their young children to look through. Children are highly impressionable and can have nightmares over this sort of art. There should be a disclaimer preceding the art.
