We all know the sweet taste of successful cheating. No, not on your partner, but on the test that you did not prepare for simply because of who you are as a human being. As students are getting more and more cunning with their cheating skills, some teachers feel the need to take its prevention to the next level as well. For some, these examples may seem a little bit extreme, however, we can all probably agree that the majority of these efforts look hilarious. If I remember correctly this teacher got in trouble and the school apologized. But, speaking as a teacher, I felt sorry for him/her. I personally wouldn't do this with my kiddos BUT I understand the desperation (pressure from administrators, the class may have issues with cheating, etc).
I don't know, given the way they are sitting, far from each other, no bags nearby, and no desks, I think those boxes actually become a CHEATING AID for those interested in cheating. Without boxes, these kids would be completely uncovered, but these boxes are hiding their faces from the teacher. I see lots of possibilities here.
we try to train and support the youngsters to have the exams with no supervision that they will be hounered and also been appreciated when they feel self determined and successful on the way to a better life !

Am I the only one who thinks a lot of these are awful ideas? Imagining trying to concentrate on an exam for two hours while also holding up the weight of a box around your face and listening to a drone buzzing around. It'd drive me mad.
Am I the only one tired of comments starting with "am I the only one"? Because obviously you're not and even if you were, you're no longer to be. Sorry to sound rude, but this trend is... well, it was needed to be said. Anyway, yes, these are not only super distracting, but most of them are actually helping cheaters cheating with notes and stuff. Blind spots are not an effective anti-cheating measure.

Not if those consequences involve designing, doing or making anything that would harm people if done incorrectly. After all, would you want someone performing surgery on you that cheated their way through medical school?

I remember my German teacher would make 2 different versions of the test, so that the person next to you would have a different version, so cheating wouldn't be useful
I think drones with tasers are a BRILLIANT idea. Just think...... "Oh Look! Billie's cheating! Zzzzap! Drool on the floor, Billie!"

Jesus people, just get a bigger room and move the tables apart or get desk dividers. No way I'd make a test with any stuff on my head.
Why go to all that trouble? My teachers would just rearrange the order of the questions. It was the same test, just the questions would be relisted in four different versions, so #1 might be #4 on your neighbors and visa versa. If you cheated it was a crapshoot if the person next to you had the same version on not. If you tried to communicate to figure out how d you had the same version it would be pretty obvious.
In a better education system, cheating should not be a problem. Kids are taught of strong sense of belief in own work. That it is better to get a lower score then cheating.
If you interleave two different class who are taking different exam side by side, so that the guy sitting next to you is always taking a different exam, it can save all these trouble.

In India, we have Police deployed for State level and as well as Civil service exams... I never thought it is odd, until now... Now that I think of it...having Police personals looking at you through the window and monitoring every move is kind of creepy...

Humiliating. Students should know that they only cheat themselves (if they do so) not the teacher, not the system.
Don't the parents teach morals? Most of these are older students. Cheating is something that really, really gets my goat. I have worked with people that cheated their way into their job, costing my company (i.e. me) a lot of money and me a lot of wasted time and effort and sleepless nights. And these are likely the same people who cheated their way through school. Out of all the non-violent crimes, I think that one just disgusts me the most. College kids should be permamently expelled for it and not allowed into another school for some X amount of time, and then should then always be monitored very closely. They should know better by then, and could cause serious harm graduating without the knowledge they need.
We'd get smacked with a leather strap or wooden ruler. Then possibly ridiculed. No one cheated after a few demonstrations. And no one filed a complaint or notified the snowflake police. But this was 'back in the day.'
Once I was working at a very prestigious university where students('s parents) were paying thousands of euros for a semester. My only task was to prevent cheating during exams. Well, it was horror to see how basically everyone tries to use some help. The worst conversation I had with a pregnant lady (there were some extra classes for businessmen and women) who begged me to let her use some cheating sheets. Because of her "situation". Well, I learned forever that when you think the teacher don't see you to cheat, he or she actually does. It's just matter of principle whether he/she stops you. It was a shocking experience, although they paid extremely good... :)
If I gave a multiple choice test I made about 4 versions of the test and just rearranged the questions.
Maybe if society treated kids like actual humans instead of a corporate product in need of quality control then passing grades would increase. Unless it's Heart Surgery class, please keep people from cheating during that test!
As I got older, cheating on exams became more and more popular. When there were only one or two classmates in earlier years, later on it became really organized by half the class
I'd probably be more tempted to look around just to see how stupid everyone looks
I've got SPD and would be much too distracted by the pain of a hat hanging by my head to be able to concentrate.
Mhhh any one else noticed the majority off the pictures where from Asia?
Some of these hats just make me think "Run rabbit run, the farmers got his gun"
i don't get why people cheat though if they have the wrong answer ?
US student here! My teachers go crazy with anti-cheating methods even for very minor quizzes. In my experience, they act as if everyone has a classified government secret on their paper.
