A sense of entitlement is a personality characteristic that's not exclusive to spoiled kids. The belief that you deserve special treatment or recognition for something you haven't earned can be quite universal.
And the subreddit which we will call 'Entitled Batch' can prove it — this online community is dedicated to shaming people who think they can always get their own way and are better than everyone else.
The moderators, however, point out in its 'About' section that the sub "in no way intends to spread hate or abuse or to offend any party, it was created for story sharing and entertainment."
Since its inception in December 2018, it has amassed quite the collection. Here are some of the most popular posts that have appeared on the sub since our last publication on it.

I'll Be Here For The Rest Of The Day
If a person isn't behaving as badly as these folks and you aren't sure whether they might have a sense of entitlement, experts suggest going through the following characteristics and seeing if they apply:
- People with a sense of entitlement expect to get preferential treatment and special favors in life, without regard for why they should be treated specially. They assume "the world owes me." For instance, they might feel that the policies of an organization should not apply to them because they should be treated with special favors.
- Regardless of what they have, they strongly believe that they deserve more. They expect to elevate their lifestyle above that of others without putting in the effort needed to do so.

- When they reach a certain level of success, they feel that everyone should bend over backward to help them. If someone has a problem with them or does not agree with what they are doing, they will try to make the other party feel as if they are wrong and that it is a horrible thing to disagree with them.
- Their personal needs come before everyone else's needs. They believe that it is your job to ensure they have everything they need, even if this means that you have to sacrifice taking care of yourself.

- They're very dramatic when something does not go their way. In these cases, they might try to make themselves look better by bringing you down.
- They are not grateful for what they have in their life. A person with a sense of entitlement may not say thank you or show other signs of appreciation for what they have. This is because they believe it is their right to have everything, so they don't value anything.

Well when common sense goes out the window, there's always Twitter polls.
- A sense of entitlement tends to be spread across their entire life. Someone who acts this way about one thing is likely to act the same way in other situations as well. They may be greedy or will take friends for granted instead of being appreciative.
- They act like victims and blame other people or outside forces for their problems. Again, someone with this attitude believes the world owes them and that other people are responsible for making their lives better.
But if you read through the list and remain unsure, look them up on the subreddit 'Entitled Batch'. If they're not here, maybe they aren't that bad, eh?

Dude Builds A Cool Lockdown Project, Eb Thinks That The Money He Spent Should Have Gone To Her
This isn't entitlement. This is bitterness that some waste vast amounts of money on stupid things while others go homeless and hungry. This is just being angry at the unfairness of life.
i'd be more pissed at the billionaire space race than some guys basement
Load More Replies...It's actually a far deeper question than it first appears. Extreme capitalism, selfishness, greed is pretty toxic, at the other end of the scale taking money from hard working people to give to idle people is not fair either as it destroys incentive. However, in general people attribute their financial success to their decisions and actions, and blame failure on themselves or circumstance when the reality is that randomness has a lot to do with how we end up in life. The thing about human nature is that greed has no limits, and many feel that they deserve their pound of flesh.
Load More Replies...Why tf does the average middle class person owe someone their money? Go after the people who have millions and billions to burn, who pay little to nothing in taxes, not the guy who made a novelty room in his basement. I'm so tired of entitled a**holes whining for others to give them their money.
Well I suppose at least he did not fly in a rocket into the air for a few minutes.
Bruh I was homeless during Covid too. Let people enjoy things smh it's a cool project
She must be in another country than the USA. How did someone lose their home in a country that had a Mortgage/Rent Moratorium? People couldn't be evicted and Banks were given money to offset Mortgages that were on hold. Doesn't make sense....
I'm pretty sure that was only temporary and only in some areas. Plus homelessness is s HUGE problem in the US they may well have been homeless before covid
Load More Replies...I may be wrong, but it looks like he built a "pseudo video store" in his basement, i.e. just for the heck of it, like a silly man cave. I mean, who physically rents/buys videos anymore?! Seems like a goofy project just to pass the time during lockdown. The comment on the bottom, I think is from a different person, not his wife. The part, "kept me in my home", doesn't sound like they are a couple. The entitlement is a complete stranger wanting this guy's money. The wife doesn't sound unhappy about it. In any case, no, a complete stranger is not entitled to money for a project that kept the husband occupied during the pandemic, even if he built it for poops and Chuckles.
She is ranting at the wrong person. Your GOVERNMENT should have helped you in this crisis. With taxes paid by the rich.
It's funny that when it's current, most people are like, "Oh, don't be jealous of the rich people," and "They have a right to spend their money however," (which is of course true). But then probably the same people love A Christman Carol and think it was horrible when they watch something from long ago where there were people living in poverty while someone else was being utterly frivolous and wasteful. I agree with Helen Haley - it's more about the unfairness.
Oh man. Hope she never learns about the Billionaire's Space Program 'cuz she'll go bonkers that they didn't spend it on her.
What? His home, his money and he's supposed to just give it away. Is everyone giving all their money to someone else???
Spend less time jealously stalking strangers online looking for handout and more time taking care of your own business
I bet he bought material to build it, so he already helped keeping people in their homes.
What a stupid project. Who is coming to rent them? Everything you could possibly want to watch is online anyway. What's next? Building a supermarket in the kitchen?
as i read it, it's just a random woman replying to someone else's TikTok, it's not her husband, it's just some random man who's used his money on a project in his basement, while she thinks this money should have been given to her, i guess?

No, actually, no. Because these are prime examples of how we all are very much the same and just live in our own bubble. And it's good for people that live in very mediocre bubbles to see that other bubbles exist that are a whole lot different (and a lot less prevalent we hope). Just because it is not to your comfort, doesn't mean it can't actually grow your own sense of empathy towards others. And if it's too much. Skip it. But I can assure you there's a reason you didn't. These are wonderful examples to see how "most" people react to situations like these and how people that act like that are the ones to stand out from the masses. You are looking for confirmation and you got it.

I am honestly not sure if there are more entitled people living now. Or is it we are more hyperconnected and can share this surreal existence in real time.
Waiting at the dealership for my car service, sitting reading a magazine. I guess I "thought" people knew that a magazine, open and face-down in the chair means that I've gone to the restroom. I come back, guy's sitting in the chair reading the exact article I had been reading. Yes, there were numerous other seats without open magazines in them. I realize I expect too much.
..more and more BP articles are negative.. what happened to the uplifting ?.. every article now is about someone calling someone else out for shameful behavior.. this article is about a bride who had a fight.. who's right?.. sigh
You chose to read this, there are still plenty of feel good articles on BP but you have gone out of your way to read something you don't like in order to post a negative comment. You are 100% what this article was about. Grow up and take some responsibility.
