22 Funny, Straightforward Signs About The Coronavirus Situation Put Up By Shops And Restaurants
Some businesses might have reopened but the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread throughout the world. Naturally, some shop owners want to protect themselves, their employees, and their customers, so they put up signs asking clients to come in through the door wearing face masks. Easy, right? Nope!
Unfortunately, some customers see wearing a mask as a political issue and refuse to put one on. This increases the risk of Covid-19 spreading, so stores have had to get… creative with their signs. Bored Panda has collected some of the wittiest, funniest, and most blunt ‘wear a mask’ signs that shops and restaurants have put up. Bored Panda spoke to Sarah Bingham, one of the co-owners of the vintage clothing shop Antique Sugar, whose hard-hitting and dark sign made a huge splash on the web. She told us all about how she feels about getting so much attention, about the anti-maskers who are sending her hate mail, and whether or not she thinks she’s changed anyone’s mind about putting on a mask.

Sarah, who has co-owned Antique Sugar with her friend Annamarie Sanchez for the past 10 years, told Bored Panda that she never imagined that the sign she came up with would blow up the way that it did.
She said she expected only the people who come into the shop to see it. However, she posted a photo of the sign on her personal Facebook page where she asked people if they thought it was too dark. “It was immediately shared several times, and from there someone posted it on Reddit and it took off.”
Sarah confirmed that they’ve been getting lots of hate mail. “From what I’ve seen in some of the hate mail we’ve been receiving, the most vehement anti-maskers seem to be far-right politically. They seem to have the ‘don’t tread on me’ mindset. They really don’t want to be told what to do by me, or scientists, or the government, or the media. Which is fine, but in the same sentence, they threaten to report us for violating the ADA.”
She revealed that in her opinion, she doubts that she changed the mind of anyone who had a solid opinion about mask-wearing before she posted the sign. “But I also haven’t had any non-mask-wearing people in the shop since it went up. So I’m declaring my personal battle a victory.”
There have been over 11.4 million cases of people infected with the coronavirus worldwide; more than half a million people have died from the illness. The United States has more than 2.89 million cases, the most in the entire world. Brazil is in second place with over 1.6 million infected while India has nearly 698k cases.
In the shop where I work I have to ASK the people to keep there masks on when speaking to a sales person. They honestly think they need the mask only to enter the shop. They don't have to keep it on when in the shop. YEs that is the level of stupidity we have to deal with. Or if they do not have a mask on, they stand at the door and shout what they need. WTF people??? If I ask them to please put a mask on and then enter the store, I am the one with an attitude. HAHAHAHAHA
I've been gobsmacked to see people pull their masks down to talk to other people. I mean -- do they not understand the whole POINT of wearing masks is to NOT BREATHE ON OTHER PEOPLE??? I am truly worried for humanity.

At the Goodwill where I work I see people pulling down their masks to talk on the phone. Either go outside to talk, or keep your mask on. I'm pretty sure they can hear you through it.

I'm so stressed I actually called a neighbor "Viral Vicky" out loud when I saw her outside the other day. She has yet to wear a mask in the months and months of advice to do so. Yes, she heard me. In my defense, such as it is? Someone else taped a package of masks to her *door*.
Honestly, I wish all countries were more like the Philippines. Shoot to kill for breaking quarantine. I f*****g love it.
Wolfowl, I can't tell if you are sarcastic or you just believe masks are a choice. Although it doesn't matter: this is about science and facts, whether you and/or anti-maskers want to believe that. And it is about keeping people safe. Anyone who disregards that simply because he/she thinks beliefs/politics/conspiracy theories override clear science and then gets mocked is the victim of karma, and doesn't deserve pity.

Oh, but you see, according to the right-wing conspiracy theorists, the point of wearing masks is to get us to be sheeple so we'll obey the government on everything else they (the govt) dreams up that they want us to do. And oh, when a vaccine does come out, did you not know they will be MANDATED just like masks? Oh, yes, it's true, according to right-wing conspiracy theorists I used to call friends. *smh*
My sister, (age 13) presumes to know better than doctors and medical professionals. She said, and I quote, “Everyone else is wearing a mask [this is on a city bus, people] so I don’t need one.” And my parents backed her up. Can I have a new family please?
Sadly, Aragorn, your sister is the exponent of a too vast crowd of entitled people who expect others to protect them and do for them what they aren't willing to do for others in return. And of course it doesn't work, because there will be others just like her not wearing their masks in the public transport, expecting the rest of the passengers to protect them by wearing theirs instead. Which equals a whole bunch of people without masks and too close to each other, endangering themselves and potentially everyone else around. I can only hope that she will come to sense somehow and soon. She is still young..
