This Man Perfectly Puts The US Reopening Question In Perspective By Comparing Coronavirus To Poop In A Pool
Donald Trump has said it, Elon Musk said it, too (both in caps lock, also)—the US has to be reopened. Naturally, not everyone is in agreement. There are still many risk factors out there, and seemingly, the majority of Americans think so too. A recent poll showed that almost three quarters (72%) of Americans say that they are more concerned with moving too quickly rather than too slowly when it comes to reopening the country.
Nevertheless, Twitter is full of people advocating for reopening without taking safety measures into consideration. Not only that, but some are also even saying that wearing a face mask… is a political statement. But what should we expect from people who think that vaccines are intended to kill people, not prevent them from getting diseases? For this reason, Jeremy Konyndyk, the man who led the US government response to the 2014 Ebola outbreak, has shared a simple analogy—and yes, it involves poop.

Share on FacebookThis is genius! I was on the swim team when I was younger and it was required that we receive lifeguard training. So I had to be the pool cleaner sometimes! And it really is better to get it over with and shock the pool, because the longer you wait, the more likely it is that the poop will dissolve and become more difficult to clean up.
Honestly I thought they drain the water, disinfect everything and then fill the pool again with fresh water. I mean HOW OFTEN do they poop in the pool?

The problem is COVID and we need to take care of that, then deal with the economy. If you have terminal cancer painkillers can help with the pain, but you still have the cancer. That's the core problem.
The people who are howling for prematurely opening businesses claim that they prefer "dangerous freedom." However, they are not endangering just themselves, but anybody they come into contact with. Quarantine is inconvenience, not opression.
I can understand the hairdresser who wants to reopen (using precautions) in order to support themselves and their families. I have no sympathy for the person who frames getting a haircut as an essential freedom.

I WANNA BE VACCINATED (to the tune of The Ramones’ “I Wanna Be Sedated”) How many more months to go? / I wanna be vaccinated Nothing to do, nowhere to go, oh / I wanna be vaccinated Just, get me to the doctor, I don’t want COVID-19, Hurry, hurry, hurry, I’m running out of steam, I can't control my fingers, but I want to make a meme Oh no oh-oh oh-oh How many more months to go? / I wanna be vaccinated Nothing to do, nowhere to go, oh / I wanna be vaccinated Just put me in a wheelchair, let me watch TV, Hurry, hurry, hurry, I’m running out of steam, I can't control my fingers, but I want some Jim Beam, Oh no oh-oh oh-oh How many more months to go? / I wanna be vaccinated Nothing to do, nowhere to go, oh / I wanna be vaccinated Just put me in a wheelchair and let me watch a show, Hurry, hurry, hurry, before I go loco I can't control my fingers, I can't control my toes Oh no oh-oh oh-oh An unknown number…
Cute, but you can't be effectively vaccinated against Covid-19. Like the flu, it mutates too quickly.

May I add that blaming the kid who actually did the poop, or the people who should have found the poop earlier will not help getting the poop out of the pool. True leadership is about first solving the problem, then looking at what went wrong and how to improve it. Stopping to pay the WHO the contribution, will not get rid of a single virus.
If the pool staff refused to clean up the poop -- they were fired.
That last comment - as of mid April, more than 2000 children JUST IN THE US had died. Now we're also seeing Kawasaki Disease, a horrible inflammatory response that causes permanent problems in children.
I have never heard of children s******g in the pool! Does this really happen? We were taught to GET OUT AND USE THE LOO!
The problem is caused by small children. Poop falls out of diapers. Diapers do not belong in pools. Someone should explain the rules to the toddlers. My son was potty trained on a camping vacation. Later that summer he jumped out of the pool and ran to the garden area and peed there. This was the totally disgusting baby pool.

Next time, I'll leave the second I get in the store and see they are not taking any measures. Stores who don't will find out quickly enough that they are going to be out of business in many places. (I also reported the store to my state's non-compliance board.)
I have another analogy, like it. Imagine you are riding a bike down a hill and there is a stop sign at the end of it. You stop. Then you try to get up the hill without any momentum and at first you try to go fast, but you are in danger of falling off your bike and starting over again. You fall off your bike.
I just thought of stuff I can add to this. There are some people on the side of the road who know what is wrong with the bike (America), but the biker (U. S. Government) says no to the help and struggles back up the hill. Sorry I put you I meant to put biker.

Pool scenario as literal: If the child is so young as to poop in pool, it means at least one guardian is around: That's who should clean up. Hey, if you cannot clean up after your own child, what makes you think a stranger should?
How does "flattening the curve" to avoid overwhelming the healthcare system fit into this?
How does the "flattening the curve" to not overwhelm the healthcare system fit into this analogy?
Well, in this case, we have no way to scoop the poop out of the pool, because we have no idea how to do it... Poop just floats around while we can only try to avoid it... But we can't keep the pool closed forever...
Agreed. This virus can't be eliminated. Like any other virus, it will always be around. It was a good idea at first to shut down while we figured out the facts about the disease. Now we know how to treat it and that most people who get it will be fine. So. Let people who are most vulnerable stay home but everyone can't stay home for years until a vaccine is proven effective. Plus, how effective can a vaccine be against it while, like every virus, it mutates into different forms that we don't have a vaccine for? Scientists need to think outside the box and come up with ways to live with this.

The orange twat knew it was coming and stifled the scientists. He gave our ventilators to the Russians. He is still paying politics with state assistance. He won't wear a mask or social distance. He could have PREPARED our hospitals and sent PPE and other necessities (like taxpayer checks) earlier! He held up our payments to put his name on the checks (our money, not his!)
