Coronavirus doesn’t sound like a top-notch business plan. But some corona-jerks are selling their souls to the devil, hoarding supplies, and hoping to make a quick fortune out of them.

Luckily, there are still some unsung heroes in these trying times. People are praising the selfless souls who are here to fight the viral outbreak with simple acts of kindness. Everything counts—from sharing toilet paper, to spending 2,500 dollars on masks and disinfectant only to give them away to the elders. These wholesome cases are living proof that we can and will get through it together and become stronger than ever. So don’t forget to applaud these corona-heroes in the comments!

Scroll down to see what Kristina Tamelytė, a political science lecturer at Vilnius University, told Bored Panda about the test coronavirus is putting our societies through.

Ok..now I'm crying. I have a friend whose daughter is stationed in Japan at her husbands military base. They were supposed to fly to Washington State last week to visit family. Their flight was cancelled. So they had to go online to Facebook and make the big announcement that my friend is going to be a Grandma come October. I'm Happy they're expecting, sad that they couldn't tell her parents in person and scared that this illness may kill her parents before they ever have a chance to see their grandchild. Please, Please PLEASE people....heed the healthcare experts advice and stay home when you're sick, wash your hands often, and stay safe.

Journalist Kristina Tamelytė told Bored Panda that the current health crisis is a trial of the values we've always taken for granted. “We’re used to living in an individualistic and egocentric society where the sense of community and belonging is low.” In fact, “We have never really had the time to think about how we actually live and where our societies are going.”

Now that the virus is in full swing, we have to face some really challenging questions. “Are we able to overcome this crisis and emerge as a better society? Are we able to be more attentive to others and their pain? Are we willing to let go of the urge to have everything?” Every one of us has to realize the point at which we stand, and go from there.

3D printing is becoming so popular that the price of 3D printers is going down, which means more people will have access to them. The NHS should be using them on a reguar basis.

I hope more people will follow this person's example and maybe they can do kind of like the way they do with meals on wheels but for bringing groceries to elderly people or even ones who are in quarantine.

How are we so disconnected that elderly people have no one to help them? I remember reading in first-class anthropology about how almost every society known to man does more to help elderly, sick, misfortunate people than any state society. Meaning that traditionally, a society helps their elderly, sick, and misfortunate (broken leg, wife dead, husband dead, etc.)

Typically that is true, but a lot of people are of the belief that the only people that are important to a population are the people who can provide some sort of labor. Therefore, to a lot of these societies the elderly, the sick, and the mentally ill don't cut it. It's sad, but that's how some morons think.

So true. Many elderly have no one. And they are scared. Food delivery services should waive their fees for awhile.

I'm a single mom with no family. I own a housecleaning service and was gutted to lay off my 2 employees today. Then I had to start the awful process of calling all my clients and suspending service. I was so pleased the amount of clients that not only said they will continue paying their service bill, but to call them if I needed anything. One client even picked me up to take me shopping (I don't drive). I love my clients, I'll be so happy and relieved to go back to work.

Exactly! During times of crisis so many people get into the mind set of survival of the fittest or everybody for themselves but the only way we are going to get through this is if we overcome our differences, prejudices, and mentalities and work together to find solutions.

Thank you for doing that! This made me cry. I take care of my 89 year old mom, full-time (she has Alzheimers, a heart condition, and diabetes) and it scares me to death to have to go out to store or pick up prescriptions. I waited two weeks to make a grocery store trip and am just trying to get out as little as possible. I had to go to Kroger to day to pick up an RX, and there was a man in his 80s (I think) and he was just sitting in the middle of the bakery section. I guess waiting on a family member. They shouldn't have even brought him in the store. Thank you again for taking care of them.

I remember being told as a child, “In times of crisis ALL Americans pull together to help each other out.” I’ve seen it happen many times over (from wars to hurricanes) and still believe it to be true. So let’s show the world how Americans handle any crisis... with a passion for a caring, healthy and safe way of life.

According to Kristina Tamelytė, we must be aware of the fear which is driving our behavior. “It’s normal that people tend to think of themselves during difficult times. But we can always be aware of our urges, preferences, and instincts.” This is what makes us humans, “And we can choose not to act accordingly,” Kristina explained.

As we are getting close to the full swing of the COVID-19 pandemic, more and more experts are praising altruism, which is among the traits needed to survive these trying times.

Kristina agrees that there have been numerous cases of exemplary behavior amid the crisis. “For instance, neighbors helping elderly people by bringing them food safely, so that they don’t have to come out and risk their health.”

However, if the crisis gets worse, we need to be prepared to see the “ugly side of human nature.” But Tamelytė is positive: “If we’re aware of what fear and selfishness could do to us, we will be able to avoid and control it.”
