When You Realize Someone Is Following You Around The World Just To Copy Your Photos
When we talk about Instagram followers, we don't mean it in the literal sense. Well, not usually anyway. But as Instagram-famous travel photographers Jack Morris and Lauren Bullen have recently discovered, two of their collective 2 million plus followers are quite literally chasing them around the world and recreating their poses wherever they go.
Not only do this mysterious couple pose in the same locations as Jack and Lauren; they also copy their composition, their clothing, and sometimes even their captions! It's one thing to be inspired, but these guys are taking it to a whole new level. "Having a large instagram following does come with some interesting experiences," wrote Lauren in an article on her blog recently. "But this has been by far the most odd one yet."

They should know that Greece is not the home of pizza and ice cream. Just saying.
Firm I didn't know It's just a trick of psychotic people to get more followers I would say it's quite sensible to copy someone's else pictures and to not waste all day during your holidays of finding a good setting for a picture of oh so pretty myself.
Two people I could not care less about trolled by two more vacuous wastes of space.
These photos are so staged is sad...Also blond hair girl in a blue top with a bandana wearing man is just a cliche!
Some of their pics are too staged! Like, "just here, casually eating a cherry while my bandanna wearing man drinks orange juice" just another common day in our lives 😂
It's pointed inwards that's why it looks chopped
Load More Replies...These are lyrics from song That's Amore by Dean Martin, so nothing to lol....
Load More Replies...oh come on .... anybody would be inclined to take a photo like that .. -.-
true, but taken in context with the rest of the pictures,it's creepy.
Load More Replies...No they don't. Different height, and they are made of sand, which moves.
Load More Replies...Beautiful setting but that outfit is absolutely inappropriate for visiting a medersa
it fits the short one better. looks uncomfortable on the teller woman
Load More Replies...Something looks off, the woman on the right looks like a giant in that doorway compared to the one on the left.
Is the copycat a giant? Or is she standing in a different, much smaller door? It's not a perspective thing because they are both standing in the same spot, but yet the copycat looks about a foot taller and proportionally too big for this door.
I wish they wouldn't be so disrespectful- they should pay attention to other culture's beliefs and customs before visiting :(. however, beautiful setting.
Why does the first one have doyoutravel at the top and gypsea_lust at the bottom? I sense some screenshot tweaking
sorry, but the copying girl is not only smart and funny, but also more beautiful than the original :)
Why? Because she's taller and she has longer legs? That should hardly make her more beautiful.
Load More Replies...I commented the same thing on the original instagram post and gypsea_lust threw a hissy fit
Load More Replies...I don't understand the appeal of self-induced wedgies. Beautiful setting, though.
So they totally rearranged all of the shop's lamps just to take two pictures? I don't think so.
Load More Replies...What an appropriate outfit to explore the streets of Marrakesh. Way to fit in and be sensitive.
She's dressed comfortably for the hot weather. That being said whenever people of different cultures who dress conservatevly visit the western countries we don't criticize and suggest they should wear western attire to show a bit more cultural sensitivity. Just saying.
Load More Replies...I think it also shows "how important" it is to have followers... same pictures the only difference is the number of likes... So what makes one a better picture than the other?
Load More Replies...This is sick, if these copies are serious than the stalkers are psychos :/
Wow, this one especailly (but many others as well) it's obvious there's really no talent behind the copy cats images. They try to imitate but really they fai. Their shots just are not even close to be as seamless as the originals.
These people are models.. there is a few other profiles with the same pictures being taken. SO they know each other or know of. The one on the right side is just trying to gain followers and it's working. BUT she sure did ruin the other girl.
Which ones are the originals? Speaking as a photographer the ones on the left are shot better (with a few exceptions) - for e.g. The verticals are straight not converging...
Wow, it must be quite sad to have the money to travel and copy someone else to this extent, but not have the brains to do your own thing. Shame.
But doing that is "their thing" - it is a total conceptual art project!
Load More Replies...Love how this post proves that even in a near identical situation, the photographer definitely makes a difference.
It looks to me like the photographs have been taken by the same photographer at the same time. This has the look of a hoax. The light levels in each picture are pretty similar and you only get that if you take the pictures at the same time. It's a couple of couples travelling together and staging the images.
Have you heard of the "script machine"? It's a powerful computer system the wealthy use to run "scripted lives". Some people run it without being aware, and others pay enormous prices to repeat popular scripts. It's likely there were many more couples who ran that script, but these are first two who took photographs and published them.
There might be another explanation. The copy-cats might not even have been aware they were doing that. It would be interesting to know if they denied it or not.
lol I think the copycats had an hilarious idea! However, from an artistic p.o.v. subtle differences in the camera angle & the arrangement on the picture plane make it clear that the photos copied are yet better than the copies. #14 is the best example of this.
Someone has been having a lot of work, while having fun. As for the photos themselves, they are incredibly cliché. Don´t take me wrong, but all of them look incredibly planed
I think it's fine for photos to be planed and composed carefully (unlike the other reply I do think photography is an art and great photos are most often planned). But totally with you on the cliche. It's so boring! I think the copycat account illustrates how unoriginal the first account is. Travel photos should be pictures of places, not pictures of half naked people.
Load More Replies...At first, I thought like Caitlyn McCracken the "followers" make fun of the originals, like a real life parody. But then, this must take so much dedication and effort. Thinking how social media works nowadayys, I am wondering if they probably know each other and this is a deliberate coup.
I think this is a hoax. I believe the original posters are completely in on this, to generate gossip, drama and hype surrounding their instagram account in order to get more attention and followers.
It prolly is. Orrrr its just some really skilled stalkers at work, trolling away :D
Load More Replies...This is a falsified viral story designed to drive publicity and traffic to the copied Instagram account. This is clearly faked for the purpose of going viral. Tgere is no "trolling couple," there is only a staged viral project. I hate seeing faked stories presented as fact.
I don't understand how the copy cat manages to get the exact view of the location...exact angle...exact dress....... That takes a lot of hard work..do they original and the copy go shopping together????????
I agree, too alike aren't they, I think it's a hoax
Load More Replies...That would drive me absolutly NUTS!! But also flattered that my antics are worth such the effort to recreate!!
That is creeping me out. The second couple: you are either extremely creative or extremely jealous. Having such "followers" would probably freak me out so much, that I stopped posting anything.
A lot of it is sponsered by travel agents or skateboard companys as in one of the above pics! The copycat must me loaded though because there are no product placements in her photo's or shout outs to companies!
