Meet Baby, The Corgi That Loves Everyone And Has A Feisty Personality (31 Pics)
Corgis are comical, cuddly, and charming, and no wonder the Queen adores them. And this particular sweetheart is the perfect ambassador of the breed.
Meet Baby, a 5-month-old pup who can't stay still, constantly making everyone around her smile like idiots. Her owner May Theint Nwe got her after falling in love with their first corgi, Cooper. After the new brother and sister really hit it off, their hooman even created an Instagram account for the two to show the world just how much fun these goofballs are.
And while Cooper definitely is just as important to the household, this time we're inviting you to spend some time with his baby sister, Baby!

"Cooper is the first dog that we got and he is 2 years old now. He's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi," May Theint Nwe introduced her pet to Bored Panda. "Baby is our second puppy and she's also a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She does, however, have a slightly fluffier coat than her big brother."
May Theint Nwe said that Cooper is the sweetest boy you could imagine, adding that he's a good big brother to Baby -- very kind and forgiving when it comes to her goofing around. Which she does a lot of. "Baby is very playful and feisty. She sometimes gets jealous [of Cooper] if she doesn't get enough attention herself."
Overall, however, Baby loves everyone, including her big brother!
Their owner also said that Cooper doesn’t like posing for photos as much as his sister does. That's why there is more of her on their Instagram account. May Theint Nwe said they wouldn't force their puppies to do anything in front of the camera, but Baby simply doesn't mind getting her picture taken. And she gets plenty of treats for it, too!

Illegal in the Netherlands to amputate tails and ears. And I noticed that more European countries are creating or have created laws against it.
It should be illegal everywhere! It’s a form of abuse IMO!

Lovely dog but hate the docked tail. Dogs are not born with stub tails - this owner (or the breeder) took it to the vet and had its tail amputated (hope they didn't do it themselves)
Actually, there are several dog breeds - including the Welsh Corgi - that can be born naturally with a stubby tail or non-existent tail. This a result of a mutated gene known as C189G. Corgis and other breeds - like the Australian Shepherd, Brittany Spaniel, and Swedish Vallhund- carry the C189G naturally, so short tails aren't necessarily a result of docking, just breeding. There are also breeds -like the King Charles Spaniel and Rottweiler - who are born with naturally stubby tails without the C189G mutation, and a geneticist in England was granted permission by the AKC to crossbreed Corgis with the mutation into his Boxer line to get the naturally stubby tail without docking. While it's messed up that this even needs to go through red tape, the practice could become widespread in the AKC and eliminate tail docking altogether (baby steps when it comes to breeders, of course).
It was originally done because corgis were used to hunt badgers, and they wanted to prevent injuries and infections. Now it's to meet "breed standards" for show dogs...and it's cruel and ugly.
...and not necessarily true! Please read the above post. The mutation for a naturally missing tail has been fostered so many Corgis are now just born that way. Otherwise, yes, any modifications done to animals simply for human cosmetic reasons is cruel & completely unnecessary. Ear cropping in pit bulls just to make these naturally sweet natured dogs look 'tough' is one example that I despise. Especially as it is almost always a home job by unqualified idiots because more & more vets are refusing to do this.
