The street artist Dran, born in Toulouse in 1979, is frequently called The French Banksy. These two artists share a critical view of society, power figures and are not afraid to expose their beliefs publicly.
"My father wanted me to work with him in construction, but since my arms are too thin to hold a hammer, I dedicated myself to the drawing," said the artist.
Dran mainly creates paintings, drawings and graffiti art all over France. With his art, he addresses important current issues such as the powers of the authority, sexual harassment, internet addiction, exaggerated media and many more.

Is a bit ironic...we use paper (from downed trees) to pass out “save our forests” flyers!!!
This is incredible. I feel this is how the elderly are seen and treated. Just keep giving them more and more pills!!! !!
In the work I do it constantly saddens me that as people get older they are provided more and more medications - I know from my own parents they tend to accept aging and need for meds - rather than possibly trying to become active and fighting some of the signs off. That said - aging does bring on a whole wonderful world of issues - so it itsn't a one size fits all analysis. I do know a lot of people as they age accept their issues are all age related and they cannot do anything about it or it is understandably difficult to work at the alternatives. Being alone and sick or in pain - hard to motivate yourself to care - we need far more community supports
Load More Replies...We have to remember sickness is business for drug companies. Some drugs people need, but many doctors go overboard, as they feel pressured to prescribe. It worries me to think that drug companies actually don't want a world of healthy people, they want to make money. When you realise this you stop trusting them.
I'm elderly. Believe me, the pills are on the outside, or they wouldn't be alive.
I can see this!!! Just about every time I hit a Dr's office, they want to write a scrip. Or do ultra expensive blood tests. I am eighty and last time they did $3600.00 worth of tests among which were for cocaine, heroin, opiates and opioids!!! I do not remotely resemble an addict of any kind, much less hard drugs. Money! Money! Money!!! I cut drugs in half and sometimes in quarters. Results are always the same.
why do we lock up old people in homes and in hospitals? wouldn't they be so much happier spending their lives in their own homes spending it with people they love instead of machines??? you keep them alive a little longer by keeping them locked up. pointless. let them breathe air. they need it
Guess I’m in the minority but I see a loving, elderly couple turning their backs to medications
Pills Pills & more freaking Pills darling..Oh don't worry I've got a Pill for that :)
It’s so sad. Here is a wealth of information about our own history in the Country, that will soon be lost. I think it would be a great project for a teacher to take a group of young teens and have them interview these senior citizens. Let them hear, first hand about the depression, the wars, the Zoot Suit Riots, etc. take the pills away, let them become alert, and let them tell their stories!!!
Load More Replies...The issuing of ills to the elderly is rampant in western world. I am from Kenya but you hardly find the elderly taking pills. Many individuals are over 80 years but more than 98% do not take pills. I feel this is more of an arrangement between big pharmacies and hospitals to issue the elderly pills.
Except it isn't. It has to do with diet and environment.
Load More Replies...I see it differently. I see these - the notebook - couples are actually moving on and ignoring theses raining pills from the sky! They look healthy don't they ? Although the dropping sound of the pills is compelling, but yet the are moving forward.
My internist of 17 years pushes hard for yoga, meditation ,squats , healthy living , mental exercises, hobbies , & staying engaged with friends & what's new in the world. Medications are dispensed when needed for specific conditions & carefully followed up with periodic lab work . I know he's a rare doctor ,for I'm an RN.
may be controversial but like damn cant live in innocent bliss all your life
This IS my Doctor! If I have a pain, he gives me drugs. No matter what the pain is. I have had to tell him no, that I wasn't going to take another damn pill!
Then why are you at the doctor? What do you expect? She isn't going to have a magic wand.
Load More Replies...LOL! When I loaded this up, it had an ad for 'Canopy Heath: Refreshingly Clear, Human Care' in the middle of the picture!
It's not just the elderly. Once you hit 40, they only thing the Doctors will subscribe is pills and more pills. They are nothing more than paid drug pushers by the Pharmaceuticals.
Oh really? You have no complaints, but they force you to take prescriptions? Bull.
Load More Replies...I had a teacher who would shout at me "WALK WITH YOUR BACK STRAIGHT" every time I arrived at school, in front of everyone. I was a shy, skinny kid and we were forced to carry a bag full of books from and back to school almost everyday because every teacher had homework for us. One day I became so enraged, I screamed back at him: "DO YOU WANT TO HOLD MY BAG, SEE HOW MUCH IT WEIGHTS? MAYBE YOU CAN CARRY IT FOR ME!" Not only did I not get scolded, he did not bother me anymore. We had so much homework and zero free time after class, and all the weight they put on our backs… It's not healthy for the kids. This illustration is so accurate, sure brought back memories :)
Loss of freedom to express....again true and sad. Must be diligent to protect our freedoms!
24/7 whether men or self righteous women want to believe it or not!!!!
This is sad, because one day, this will Be True. Children will not know what real animals look like!!!
Not trying to be controversial but sometimes we need those little outs to be able to survive. Yes, it's important to know the state of our world, but you also need the little things to make you happy. If we constantly focus on the negative and the horrible things, depression will start kicking in. It's the sanity in the insane.
This happens, all too often. Here, the Black man is trying to cover up graffiti, and it’s immediately assumed he’s doing something wrong!
I don't think the point of this illustration is that he's "wasting" his job time on art, or that art is not needed..... but that there are so many talented people who cannot pay for proper education that can boost their talent, and their needs are so many that they have to just put their talent aside and "get a job to pay the rent".
The cd is going extinct as well. Just a flash drive is all you need..
There's no need for that, actually. Both can totally coexist in peace
I'm from NY and I can completely relate! I honestly HATE it here and feel like most New Yorkers do. But we constantly pretend we love it here and like it's the greatest place in the U.S.A.
I think its about how we all have a happy face in the public, just like Tthe Clown's mask, and it all is just substained in things bought with money - e.g. the cocaine
I think part of the experience is YOUR OWN interpretation of them.
Load More Replies...I like a lot of them. Big theme of your wishes being more colourful and better than your surroundings.
can we credit the artist properly and not just call him French Banksy ?!
A little too much of that "edgy", way too "on the nose" kind of art I see a lot of on the internet.
Are we supposed to know who the original "Banksy" is? Because we don't. It sounds like a cat name.
some do need explanation. But most of them are beautiful by work.
Intriguing and art of any kind can almost always stir one's own personal imagination where things and secrets often lay dormant. Would love higher resolutions on the pictures to use as wallpaper. Probably not going to happen I guess, but still enjoyable!
most of these are so true!! there are two that I strongly disagree with but the rest are 100% spot on
