The street artist Dran, born in Toulouse in 1979, is frequently called The French Banksy. These two artists share a critical view of society, power figures and are not afraid to expose their beliefs publicly.
"My father wanted me to work with him in construction, but since my arms are too thin to hold a hammer, I dedicated myself to the drawing," said the artist.
Dran mainly creates paintings, drawings and graffiti art all over France. With his art, he addresses important current issues such as the powers of the authority, sexual harassment, internet addiction, exaggerated media and many more.

Is a bit ironic...we use paper (from downed trees) to pass out “save our forests” flyers!!!
This was me as a young child. I got so lonely that I would, on pieces, of paper, draw a phone screen and a girl's face on it. I would also draw "e-mails" (I still confused e-mail and text at six or seven,) from this person. I named her Selena. I would take these pictures I drew around and pretend to e-mail Selena and Skype her. I would also 'talk" to her and tell her about my day. She, other than by brother, was my only friend. It was sweet but pretty sad. Anyways, this is really moving to me as I personally relate to it very much.
it is a boy who wants to be a girl... he drew what he wanted
Load More Replies...I see it differently to other people on here. I see it as him wanting to be a girl.
That's how I feel when I draw someone I love. Or if I get a poster. I relate to this one.
Reminds me of "Simon In The Land Of Chalk Drawings" a feature on the 1950's Captain Kangaroo show where Simon (the kid) would draw chalk stick figures on a fence and when he hopped over the fence he was in the Land of Chalk Drawings with them. Just sayin'....
When I was little both sides of my family hated me and would on purpose isolate me from making friends. So all I had was my imagination and it’s hypocritical when crazy religious adults tell us to grow up when they worship a figment of their imagination.
Child like to color his own life by making colorful painting of his friend
I kind of feel as if this one is supposed to show how we live in our own imagination dreaming of everything becoming rainbows and butterflies 🦋 without wanting to put in the effort. I might be over thinking this one but that's the message I see in this one.
I love how this is open to interpretation! Could be a transgirl who isn't allowed to express who they are, loneliness, wanting a friend, or not being allowed to wear the clothes and hair they want. It's a wonderful art piece too!
Maybe it's how the child views himself... transgender? The picture looks happy and his stance looks sad
This is incredible. I feel this is how the elderly are seen and treated. Just keep giving them more and more pills!!! !!
I had a teacher who would shout at me "WALK WITH YOUR BACK STRAIGHT" every time I arrived at school, in front of everyone. I was a shy, skinny kid and we were forced to carry a bag full of books from and back to school almost everyday because every teacher had homework for us. One day I became so enraged, I screamed back at him: "DO YOU WANT TO HOLD MY BAG, SEE HOW MUCH IT WEIGHTS? MAYBE YOU CAN CARRY IT FOR ME!" Not only did I not get scolded, he did not bother me anymore. We had so much homework and zero free time after class, and all the weight they put on our backs… It's not healthy for the kids. This illustration is so accurate, sure brought back memories :)
Loss of freedom to express....again true and sad. Must be diligent to protect our freedoms!
24/7 whether men or self righteous women want to believe it or not!!!!
This is sad, because one day, this will Be True. Children will not know what real animals look like!!!
Not trying to be controversial but sometimes we need those little outs to be able to survive. Yes, it's important to know the state of our world, but you also need the little things to make you happy. If we constantly focus on the negative and the horrible things, depression will start kicking in. It's the sanity in the insane.
This happens, all too often. Here, the Black man is trying to cover up graffiti, and it’s immediately assumed he’s doing something wrong!
I don't think the point of this illustration is that he's "wasting" his job time on art, or that art is not needed..... but that there are so many talented people who cannot pay for proper education that can boost their talent, and their needs are so many that they have to just put their talent aside and "get a job to pay the rent".
The cd is going extinct as well. Just a flash drive is all you need..
There's no need for that, actually. Both can totally coexist in peace
I'm from NY and I can completely relate! I honestly HATE it here and feel like most New Yorkers do. But we constantly pretend we love it here and like it's the greatest place in the U.S.A.
I think its about how we all have a happy face in the public, just like Tthe Clown's mask, and it all is just substained in things bought with money - e.g. the cocaine
I think part of the experience is YOUR OWN interpretation of them.
Load More Replies...I like a lot of them. Big theme of your wishes being more colourful and better than your surroundings.
can we credit the artist properly and not just call him French Banksy ?!
A little too much of that "edgy", way too "on the nose" kind of art I see a lot of on the internet.
Are we supposed to know who the original "Banksy" is? Because we don't. It sounds like a cat name.
some do need explanation. But most of them are beautiful by work.
Intriguing and art of any kind can almost always stir one's own personal imagination where things and secrets often lay dormant. Would love higher resolutions on the pictures to use as wallpaper. Probably not going to happen I guess, but still enjoyable!
most of these are so true!! there are two that I strongly disagree with but the rest are 100% spot on
