Perspective can be everything when it comes to taking pictures. Sometimes, when you snap them at the right place and time, the outcome can be so mind-boggling that one glance is not enough. Whether it's a hand going through a cat's body or light fixtures that resemble pigeons, such images call for a double-take in order to stop your head from spinning.

Enter the subreddit Confusing Perspectives, a place “for puzzling perspectives, confusing angles, and missing context.” This community with more than 1.4M members shares baffling content that will make you think your mind is playing tricks on you.

We have collected some of the most bizarre photos we could find on this subreddit, so check them out below! And after you’re done, make sure to check out Part 1 of this post right here.

All Hail Mighty Cat, Ruler Of The Heavens And The Earth

All Hail Mighty Cat, Ruler Of The Heavens And The Earth

Puzzleheaded_Dog_180 Report

Bored Panda reached out to Hugo Suissas, a self-taught photographer and art director from Lisbon, Portugal. He continues to inspire the world by taking pictures of the most mundane things that turn into surreal and mind-bending images with the help of forced perspective photography. Hugo was kind enough to provide us with some insights on the significance of perspective when capturing photos.

According to him, perspective makes the world of photography advance with new ideas. It "brings a whole new world of possibilities and diversity. But most of all, it offers people the opportunity to see something never seen before in that way," he explained. And often at the end of the day, when people are tired from their jobs and never-ending routines, they wish to see innovative and original content that will surprise them.

This isn't the only reason why many people are attracted to such puzzling and confusing pictures. "Anything seen from a completely new angle attracts a lot of attention because it makes you see things for the first time. And this is exciting for everyone," the photographer explained.

"It takes a lot of work and requires a lot of focus, but it's with new angles that we manage to come up with innovative photos and kill the clichés. We often worry about the brand of the camera and waste time changing lenses, etc. But in reality, what matters and has to work is our mind and the time we invest."

One piece of advice Hugo Suissas would like to share with you from his 10 years of experience in photography is, "There are no excuses. There are no lucky ones," he said. Nothing is impossible. "In reality, what exists is work, focus, persistence, criteria, organization, discipline, and love for what you do. If these factors live in harmony, big things will happen to you."

Krystal Kenney is an American photographer living in Paris and the author of La Vie Creative, a podcast where she explores artistic living and dives deep into the lifestyles of those who pursue creative career paths. She had a few thoughts about the importance of perspective in pictures.

It's all about what you show your viewers through your images: "Perspective is important to open other people's eyes to new ideas. By changing our perspectives, we open our creative minds to new possibilities and help others to do the same," Krystal explained.

According to her, puzzling photos like the ones you can see in this list attract a lot of attention because it makes the viewers feel curious. "Their eyes continue to roam across the photo while their brain tries to decipher what they are looking at and which way is upright. It challenges the mind," she said. "Changing your perspective in photographs is one of the greatest keys to creating better compositions and more interesting photos. Start small by getting higher or lower than get more creative from there."

In the most common sense, perspective means the way you see things around you, but when it comes to photography, it’s actually a quite confusing topic. It’s considered to be a two-dimensional representation of a three-dimensional world, so photographers need to show and create depth through the objects that can be seen in the frame. According to Expert Photography, "Just like we use motion blur to give an impression of movement, we use perspective to give an impression of depth."

There are quite a few things you can do to change the perspective of an image. By moving around your camera left and right, up and down, you can gain a better viewpoint than your usual eye level. The same applies to the photographer, even the smallest change in distance can alter the photo.

"Changing your angle allows you to see and show the world from a different aspect," Expert Photography advised. "You will find that you can manipulate the size of subjects. Make them difficult to comprehend. Confuse our powerful yet impressionable minds." And according to them, this is a common way to puzzle the human brain.

However, even if you know all of the rules about perspective in photography, sometimes the most hilarious and mind-boggling images happen by accident. Just like the ones you see in this post. While seeing such pictures might make you feel seriously surprised or confused, they will also intrigue you and create new ideas.
