Allergies, got in a cat fight, somehow managed to get covered in soot, other animal pee , fell into some strange substance that may or may not be ok For them to be licking off themselves, etc .

some cats dont clean themselves as well or still have a certain odor. but thats where kitty wet wipes are a much better option!

Cats can get grimy and stinky too. And they're not made of paper or sugar, so it's not like they'll MELT or something in the bath... Don't be a pussy.

Flea bath. Also when I raised a litter of teeny orphaned kittens we had to bathe them twice. They had worms and weren't quite old enough for medicine (we treated with diatomaceous earth until they weighed enough for meds. They were very young and small for their age as well) but that resulted in a lot of diarrhea, and they weren't old enough to know how to clean themselves yet. We used wipes to keep their poopy butts clean but wipes will only do so much. And when they getting into the food bowl or walking through the wet food...eventually bath time was just necessary. They were lucky to have an older cat around to teach them how to bathe themselves, but I can see orphaned kitties who are exclusively human raised not learning to bathe themselves and needing more water baths.

Some cats don't clean themselves or have been taught not to because apparently, peoples cat allergies are to their saliva, not fur so they either have to bath them to clean them due to having cleaned themselves for allergic humans or being the only way to clean them

True, except some older cats need bathing if they have stopped cleaning themselves. Also, some breeds have such long hair that they can't take care of it themselves - which is wrong, cats like that shouldn't even exist.

true - it can harm their skin it you bathe them regularly - cleaning up accidents or flea baths for rescues are a different thing - although i'd like to know why yourpet cat gets fleas so bad it needs one - negligence i'd call that

I can tell you right now there are absolutely reasons to bathe a cat. We had a cat who had a severe case of dandruff and needed to bathe him with a medicated wash. Cats who have a sh*tload of fleas. Cats who've had diarrhoea. They might not like it but those are valid reasons for their health to bathe them.
