Though we see our lives as mostly boring and "not much to write home about", we gladly want to see how others are living and what they're experiencing, even though they might see their lives to be as boring as we see ours. Perhaps those tiny little differences and the unfamiliarity with other people's lives are what attracts us to know more about them.

Let us introduce you to Promptlypaneled comics created by Xan that may satisfy your need to check up on how others are doing. Her comics range from relatable everyday life situations to particular experiences that the author has gone through from a feminist point of view. Take a peek!

Here's how Xan started the comic and how it's doing right now: "It started sometime in 2019 before the pandemic, and I believe it was 2020 once one of the comics went somewhat viral. It's happened a couple more times since and tends to bring in a few new followers, which is nice! The comics get re-uploaded a lot, which overall I don't mind, as long as the watermark is intact. If people want to see my full collection and follow for more, they can find my Instagram page. If they just enjoy the few very popular ones that get reuploaded, that's fine too! As for how the comic is doing now, I think it's doing okay enough. I'm trying to get in a better groove of frequent uploads, though as we're renovating our house on the side, it's difficult to balance at times. I hope to find that balance soon: there's no shortage of issues I want to discuss or stupid relatable events I've had happen!"

Xan likes to base the comics off of something that she personally experienced or went through, which is why many find it relatable. "I tend to make comics based on my own experiences. Working as a server, being a woman, dealing with (the aftermath of) the pandemic... I'm an unapologetic feminist and as such, if I had to pick one overarching theme, it's an ever-present veil of feminism."

Honey, if he’s so superficial that a couple pounds difference between a tinder photo and the actual person makes that his worst first date, then you telling him that is wasted breath. It will never sink in, and he will never understand it, because he has no inner life. He only skims the surface of life, with zero concern for deeper truths.

The artist believes that it's an important mission to talk about these issues. "Generally, I think there will always be a need to showcase women-centric struggles. The internet can be a very hostile space, and it seems to get worse every passing day. "Being a woman" isn't considered the social norm, despite making up 50% of the population, and because of that, a woman's voice is easily drowned out online. Even with my comics, people often assume I'm a man, even though the character is clearly not. I'd love for us as a society to move forward to a world where being online does not automatically mean being a man."

their job is not to date you it is to ring up your items and say "have a good day"

"Bringing up women's issues can have a very strong reaction online. The loudest voices don't make up the majority of actual opinions, but they serve to keep women down and quiet, preventing these issues from being discussed openly. And if we don't talk about something, it goes unnoticed. That's no way to live. A simple comic is easy to read, easy to share and easy to relate to. In that way, I think they can help in getting a discussion started. Even if that means some people bring in a lot of negativity. Let them! It's part of the progress."

Here are Xan's plans for the future, and the future is looking interesting, so keep an ear out. "I'm writing a rough outline for a bigger comic project, about my experience with life coming out of an abusive relationship in the past. I have yet to find the perfect tone for it: as it is, it's too dramatic for my taste, and it'll take a few rewrites before I can take it to the next level.

As for slightly less depressing plans, honestly, part of me wants to animate some content. I haven't animated something for myself since college and I quite miss it! So some short-video-form content might be a nice addition. Though it would require making a TikTok account, which is terrifying for someone who's pushing 30, like me."

If you like it, drink it, it doesn't matter if it is a cheap or expensive wine or beer.

Yeah. Like when you see your therapist and they ask and you feel tears burning and sort of get angry because you tried to hold it in because you have things to do after (before you can go home and cry it out in the shower).

I do love an Incel screeching that no one will date him because he is short, but in the same breath insisting he'll only date a size 4 with big boobs. It's not your height, my dude, it's your whole personality.

I had a twitter DM from a dude saying "Hey can' I ask you something?" and I thought "Oh this'll be good". Turned out I'd posted a photo with a plant in the background and he wanted to know what kind it was so he could get one. Unexpected! Cheered me up all week.
