Dogs Love Bacon is a weekly webcomic that follows the lives of two rescue dogs and their human. The comic came about at the end of 2020 to try and bring some cheer to readers...and keep the artist drawing. A new dog has recently joined the pack for a stay, and there are even more antics afoot. Check out my previous comics here.

I own a reactive dog.. he was abused and dumped. He has PTSD and does not do well with strangers. Most of the kids here think I should put him down or keep him caged... You are acting like jerks.

That's disgusting. I wish people wouldn't look down just because they're animals. If a human had the same problem they'd get help.

I don't get all this negativity here. I don't have an aggressive dog and I have a huge problem with people who take aggressive dogs out in public and aren't responsible. But that's not what's happening here. We can clearly see that the other dog owner has their dog secure as well and she is just giving a heads up to make sure all the dogs are safe. Dogs with an unfortunate history deserve to be out too, otherwise how would they ever learn. This is just making a joke that they got tangled up in the leashes so are beyond secure. Calm down folks.

My dog is a rescue. Kids think she's cute and start running towards us. Other people think it's fine to let their dogs off leash, when it's not a dog park. Once adopted she's family. It's not my or her fault she had a abusive start in life. Puppy age is especially important. I went to lessons and socialized her. She just thinks the world is out to hurt her. I keep her on a leash. I should be able to safely and calmly enjoy walks. Just because other dogs are "friendly" isn't an excuse to be irresponsible. I've had dogs be aggressive towards me that are "friendly". I'm especially sick of small dog owners that think their dogs should run free at all times. They would probably sue me once my dog bites out of fear. Act like it's her fault for their responsibility. My neighbor keeps letting their dog run the neighborhood. It barks and thinks our yard is it's territory.

Having an unsocializzed dog is a pain in the ass. Ignorant people dont make that any better. I appreciate this comic showing people just being chill

I mean at least they gave a warning though.... If you're gonna be rude enough to walk around with an agressive dog in a public area, it's better to have the people that will warn you BEFORE anything happens than the belated "Oh yeah, he's agressive but I'm not a fan of leashes."

It's really sweet to see all five dogs and their people out getting to enjoy themselves. I love the ease and courtesy of the interaction. I've never posted a comment or reaction to anything online, but this comic is so heartwarming that I registered for the site just to say how moving I find it

If ur dog has a prob w strangers then I guess u worry about keeping YOUR dog away from the strangers, n not telling the strangers they have to go away. U take ur dog somewhere else.

She is keeping her dog close, but she's giving heads up so the other person can keep their dogs from investigating on their own

Friendly looking dogs can become frightening very quickly if reactive. A dog could dislike when people approach and try to pet them from the front, or become agitated when restrained, or react negatively to loud noises. No matter how well behaved or trained a dog is, they all have limits, so when an owner is aware of their dogs limits and is on top of them they'll alert other people to it so no one is presumptuous and approaches their dog without permission. If someone tells you their dog is unfriendly, even if it looks super sweet, it's best to respect and listen to them
