Dogs Love Bacon is a weekly webcomic that follows the lives of two rescue dogs and their human. The comic came about at the end of 2020 to try and bring some cheer to readers...and keep the artist drawing. A new dog has recently joined the pack for a stay, and there are even more antics afoot. Aww she's deaf. My parents dog is deaf but so sweet. And she understands a bit of sign language now.

Yup, I took her to the vet and learned that she lost most of her hearing. Thankfully, some of my Instagram readers offered tips on how to help her out.

We had two cats that became deaf as they aged. It's very easy to adapt to a deaf pet
My brother worked for the US Embassy in Mexico and an old lady with no family passed away and left her large black cat behind. So my brother dropped it off with us. She was the sweetest thing except when you would pet her from behind or when she was napping... She would VICIOUSLY attack you. I ended up finding out she was deaf whilst I was vacuuming. Everything made sense after that because she had the habit of meowing extremely low or extremely high lol.
My li'l ol' lady kitty has gone slowly deaf and honestly not much has changed except she doesn't come when called, but she does tend to stay in the same room with me so if I need her attention, I bang my crutch really hard on the floor. We've (she and I) decided that works, lol.

One of my dogs is coming up on 12 and has significant age-related hearing loss. Waking her up requires a lot more gentleness than when she was younger.
