I have been writing short dialogues about my adorable dog since he was a puppy. The intense affection I felt for a creature I could not communicate with inspired me to imagine the conversations we would have if dogs could talk.

Recently, I realized that the vast collection of stuff I had written might entertain other people. The problem was these short stories were kind of boring to look at in text form. They needed to be brought to life to have the same energy and vigor as my actual dog.

Enter Hey Buddy Comics’ talented artist “K.” Together, we planned out a series of fun comics based on my stories, the start of which you can see below.

I hope you like these interesting stories. There are many more webcomics to come! Find us on Instagram if you want to see them.

I didn't get to hug my best friend. Instead I got a phone call saying he went into cardiac arrest at 1am and they needed my permission to euthanize him. They told me there was nothing that could be done and it would be the most peaceful way. Then I had to pick him up the next morning and bury him near a lemon tree in the backyard. RIP Oscar Brown.

When our old dog 18 years old got so bad she couldn't move without pain anymore even on medication, could control her bladder or bowels and just generally didn't have any quality of life we knew it was time. I went and bought her some mini corn dogs because why not, it's not like it was gonna hurt anything now...and then we opted for home euthanasia. I will be comforted to know that after she happily scarfed up as many corn dogs as she wanted, they sedated her and she went peacefully in her sleep and I cried like a banshee I actually think my family was embarrassed for me but I f'ing loved that dog!

This brings back the worst memory. That was the worst day of our lives, having to let our little weenie go.

@Martha Meyer - your info is wrong.. my dachshund actually always have hugs on his own.. it's what got my mom to buy him .. he looked at her with sad eyes.. he laid his head on her shoulder in a hug motion and then he was ours.. and he continued to give many many hugs throughout his almost 17 years of life.

I can assure you as someone with over a decade experience as a veterinary assistant...no dog every dies alone on our watch, even if the owner can't handle it. I don't let a pooch or a kitty go without stroking them and telling them they are a good boy/girl.

My great uncle left his dog when putting him down so now I won't talk to him. The dog was his late wifes too. I think he should have stayed in her honor

Heartbreakingly beautiful! I held my much loved cat in her last moments ... and now wish I could be granted the same easy death. But my doctors and our laws don't agree.

This is beautiful. We all hope to be with our dogs and ease their suffering when they pass. I've been with two who were put to sleep at the vet and one who passed away on his own and I wouldn't have wanted it to be any other way as hard as it was. I mean obviously I would have preferred that they lived forever but they still do in my heart.

I. Love. This. It's so true. As heartbreaking as it may be, I try to convince every doggo/furbaby person I know to be with their buddy when it's time, and hold them and tell them it's ok to go. It makes such a difference for our furbabies to be released with love and support. I've had them sigh, relax and kiss me as they die because I told them it's ok, I'll be ok and see them on the other side of the bridge.

This cartoon made me realize how much I loved my pet. Harry had Diabetes and cancer, my wife and I held him when he went to dog heaven. He is buried in our yard in the garden so he is close to us.

couldn't you have made the dog look old ? it looks as if he is having a young healthy dog put to sleep ! I have held all my dogs as they have passed on - and I have all their ashes in a cabinet in the hall - I can't let go of them I am afraid - we lost our Cocker spaniel 3 years ago with inflammatory bowel disease - and my heart is still aching - broken and empty!!!

Dogs hate to be hugged. Do NOT hug your sick dog. You are just making it worse for the dog.

Will the best friend do the same to his sick child? Don't think so.

How do you know this is a puppy? Could be a dog at the end of it's life. Just like human families say it's not worth it to put Grandma through all those medical procedures just to have her with them for 1 or 2 years of a painful life...some people feel that it's time to let them go. The only difference is..pet owners can euthanize the pet to ease their suffering. It's illegal in most places in the USA to engage in assisted suicide of a person. Countries, like Sweden, understand this...which is why they have assisted suicide. Unfortunately our country not only makes it illegal, but they make billions off the prolonged suffering of people with fatal illnesses that strip away their mobility, intelligence and dignity. Sometimes it's not about "Oh..that's too expensive of a procedure..let's put them down." Sometimes it's "They've been loyal and loving and I can't let them die like that. They deserve a quick exit, not months of suffering."

Why was this puppy killed while it was looking normal at the vets? His bestfriend had him taken out.

Because dogs can have brain tumors, cancer growths on vital organs, illnesses that don't take away from their behaviors but that are still fatal. Maybe you think that he should let the dog suffer with pain while the dog slowly dies from cancer? I wouldn't want to put my dog through that. And who said the dog was a puppy...it could be a full grown small dog. Looks like a Jack Russell to me.

So True. We would be a much better race as humans if we all lived by a dog's philosophy.
