Believe it or not, racism is still well and alive in our modern society, and why it shouldn't be is not for us to explain. But it definitely has to do with some huge holes in education and intellectual development of the spiteful people.

When Rihanna released her "Flyliner" liquid eyeliner line, one color name stood out above the rest, "Cuz I'm Black." The title was a response to a racist comment she received on Twitter where someone asked her why her hair "looked so nappy" to which she elegantly countered with "cuz I'm black b*ch" comeback.

Yes, racist trolls are everywhere on the internet, but RiRi isn't the only one with savage comebacks to these hateful people. All across Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and Instagram people are using their platforms to shut down ignorant comments in the spirit of anti-racism with the pettiness they deserve.

Scroll down below to see some of the best comebacks to bigots on the internet. From people clearing out the air about cultural appropriation and best roasts about being a legal immigrant to mean comebacks on vicious Muslim commentaries, you'll find that people are always ready to fight back for an honorable cause.

Cultural appropriation is only appropriation if they haven't done their research and don't know what they're using. This girl and the others who helped have clearly done their research and put in lots of effort. If you think THIS is appropriation, I'm sure they have a special spot for you in the mental institution!

she makes fair points. she's not trying to delete the originals, just show a different version of them. like when a movie or song gets re-done, it's recorded over the original, just created along side it.

stellermatt, her exact point is that they are never established as white in the books (which is true) so what you're saying about showing a different version of them could be wrong. They could be black or white or green for all we know

Also, skin colour simply doesn't have much relevance in the Harry Potter universe (feel free to argue with me). 'Racism' is a pretty big deal in the series, though, with all the stigma around not being a pureblood.

I'm sorry, but it's pretty clear from the books that Hermione and Harry are white. One way you can tell is because the race of every POC character's race is mentioned or alluded to through their description/name. You can see from JKR's own sketches how she envisioned the characters. JKR's has done a lot of back-tracking after the fact in order to win 'woke' points. BUT all that doesn't mean fans can't draw the characters as another race if that's what they want. The Cursed Child play had a black Hermione anyway.

A while ago a black actress got casted as Hermione in a stage production of (I Think) The cursed Child. A s**t storm like this followed. Rowling stated that Hermione's race was never mentioned in the books, only that she had dark frizzy hair. If Rowling is cool with a black Hermione WHO THE F**K is YOU to demand she must be white?? It's her work she is the ONLY ONE who can say anything about how it should be viewed or interpreted.

I read the first book before I watched the movie, and for some reason I never really imagine book characters how they are described, but then I watched the first movie and imagined the characters like that for the rest of the series. I never realized until the casting for the Cursed Child came out that I looked back at Hermione's description and realized she very well could be black. It was some interesting food for thought for me.

What people seem to be missing is that the play, the movies and fan artworks are adaptations, not cannon. https://i.redditmedia.com/GWCoGPLSfftjqFGpPb7SBd3OJ0ezxKH-6bAG_aeHSiA.jpg?w=580&s=b69152ead799a34404e8e7ba734f9159 jkr_gary.jpg jkr_gary.jpg CWzPx91VAAEx0s8.png CWzPx91VAAEx0s8.png

If I remember right, that scene you're referencing, it only says her face was pale. And in that situation they had just encountered something rather unexpected/scary so yes, it's really not surprising she'd be described as being pale. And don't jump down my throat for this. I don't have the books with me so I can't look you that particular scene and write it down word for word. And I'm not saying it doesn't actually say something different. I'm just writing this from memory so it's entirely possible that I'm wrong.

Yes, and the ever popular view, that Jesus is white! He was not white! He was born in the Middle East, was of Jewish descent, and walked daily in the burning sun of the desert cities he lived in. How then, did he get all white? Well, because white people were drawing the pictures! White peoples decided that Jesus was white. If someone were to draw an accurate representation of Jesus based on where he lived, and his heritage, he would be darker, more swarthy, and somwould all the disciples. Very few people I. The Middle East, were white. Because white men decided in transcribing the Bible, they made Jesus white. No one bothered to challenge this view, ever. Think about that! Would all these so called Christians follow Christianity if they ever stopped to wonder what color Jesus actually was? I wonder. But I’d really like to know.

I’m white, and I personally think a black Hermione would be better/as good as than the white alernative. She’s shown to be white in the movies because of the book’s setting, if I’m not mistaken. And also The artist isn’t harming anyone. They are just doing their own thing. Why try to fix what isn’t broken?

People write and/or draw genderbend and weird ships all the time so why is this a problem? People can ship Snape and Harry and you can't draw Hermione as black? I know a black actress got cast as Hermione for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Rowling was fine with it. Hang on... Hermione is a "mudblood"... I think black Hermione makes more sense actually.

Point 2 is always valid, there is no limit on fictional story telling and interpretation. Point one is a little trickier if the character is well known, copy righted, or whose appearance is part of the story. For instance Santa Claus is a fictional character, feel free to draw him (or her)anyway you want. But I ask you would it be okay to draw Marvel's the Black Panther as a white man. Do we have an obligation to respect the original intentions of the creator?

One day this one white homeless fella refused to accept burger from our group member coz he was Asian and tried to raise a commotion shouting that due to Asians only he is homeless, crowd gathered around us, full of white people, listening to rant of this white dude, some even shaking the heads sympathetically, we all part of group were alien to that country, so we couldn't do much, and just left the scene. I left that country 2 years back due to profound racism everywhere. But i still remember that particular incident and it always makes me sad. FOOD IS NOT RACIST!
