We've had quite a few hair trends in the past year - holographic hair, glow-in-the-dark hair, hidden rainbow hair - to name a few. Yet another new hair color trend is on its way and it's kind of like the new and improved rainbow hair trend! Say hello to shine line hair.
Actually, the hashtag #shineline isn't all that new, it started way back in 2014 and has now reemerged. The main idea of the beauty trend is that, instead of blending hair dyes to create an ombre rainbow effect, the hair is bleached horizontally or vertically to create a shine line. "I wanted to create the effect that a laser beam is hitting your beautiful hair at a certain spot," colorist Aura Friedman told Allure. This hair color idea definitely looks like a laser beam is hitting the hair 24/7! It's magical. Keep on scrolling to see some of the best shine line hair ideas in photos, many of which were created by New Hampshire colorist Stephanie Lawrence.

I love the chocolate brown at the bottom of this one even more than the rainbow colors; it looks rich and healthy.
Her hair would have been more attractive if it was done in browns and greens to match her eyes...
Help!? I am 52, I have gray/white hair. I would love some color, purple. What do you think, am I too old?
You're never too old! Be you and only you, I recommend looking around for a color/style you really love and show it to your hairstylist. :) Never tell yourself you can't do something.
Load More Replies...I can't say that I'm a fan, but to each their own! I like the hidden color under the hair.
Well... if you only do it on the lower layer of hair (like how some were here as well), it's not visible if you let your hair down.

It's quite beautiful but looks hard for maintenance. Also bright color hair demands strong make-up, all the time. Pale, tired face with no make-up can look even more tired and pale with bright dyed hair.
I would love to do something like this on my hair but I work at an office and most, if not all of these, seem really inappropriate for work.
I LOVE all of these !! I'm going to do this soon I hope !!! Saving $$ now, lol !! Beautiful
That is so pretty I love it wish my hair wasn't so dark so I could try it!
I'm gonna do this the instant they changes hair regulation at the job
All too good to be true. I'm not saying these are fake, just admiring such diligence and dedication. These must be a nightmare to maintain.
We do this with my teens occasionally, but only with semi-permanent dyes that don't dry the hair out. It takes hours to get even one color in and not get it everywhere. We apply it with toothbrushes anyway to get good coverage, so the color changes aren't an issue. We don't maintain it - just let it fade out over the next few weeks. My kids will generally avoid washing their hair for the first week.
Load More Replies...The first 2 are the only one I really like.. The rest is just too colorful for my taste, it's unappealing..
This time we disagree. This shows that someone has creativity and wants to get more out of life than just the normal things they experience the other 99% of their lives. I'm in the dating scene right now and all the women are very boring and "adult" and have no spark to them at all so my search continues. A girl with this style hair would definitely attract my attention because she could probably hold it for more than 2 dates.
