The theme of this year’s Met Ball, fittingly sponsored by Apple, was Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, and Claire Danes’ dress took the cake. Designed by Zac Posen, he “sourced the fiber optic woven organza in this dress from France, and there are 30 mini battery packs sewn into the gown’s understructure,” according to FastCo.
The Met Gala is held annually for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum Of Art’s Costume (Fashion) Institute in New York City, the only department that has to fund itself. The invitation-only black-tie event is held on the first Monday in May, with tickets this year going for 30,000 USD, and tables for 275,000 USD.

Share on FacebookI'd feel really self-conscious in a dimly lit room whilst literally wearing a glowing dress, haha! That being said, it is a gorgeous dress and she looks beautiful in it.
This should've been her dress for her character Yvaine in Stardust. Because, wow, she looks like a star who fell from the sky <3
beautiful without the glow - astoundingly beautiful with it - the future of clothing is now
Most dresses are designed with attracting attention in mind. So, to me this is a stunning success. The fact that it "glows" rather than shows pin points and spot lights is another plus.
I think it would've been perfect had Posen figured a way to also light Danes' face, like with a hat with netting around her face made of the same lit up fabric. Without it, it's like a feminine version of the headless horseman ????????
Well guess she doesn't think she gets enough attention. Maybe now she'll get the "attention" she feels she needs. Even though she is a BEAUTIFUL woman in her own right; she doesn't need a glowing dress to make her turn heads.
Looks like something from Hunger Games. Kind of the opposite of Katniss, the girl who was on fire. Looks kind of like ice.
