Janaina Mello Landini is best known for her large-scale sculptural installations. But her work can transit through different scales – from the object to public spaces. She uses threads and strings to create works that arises out of a desire to create a physical experience of tension, depict imaginary networks, define spaces and retell narratives.

The “Ciclotramas” maps an assortment of paths, movements, and fluxes, creating a social cartography of individual networks, where the whole is consistently made of interconnected and interdependent parts. This approaches aiming at exploring different facets of our own personal trajectories.

The work offers themself to the viewer as site for a binary rhythmic relation and bears a resemblance to themes related to natural structures – in closer look, it presents a very defined order between individual entities and their respective ties.
