This Teacher Shared A Heartbreaking Story About A Child Who Collected Marshmallows From Cereal To Give Her As A Gift
During Christmas, we all are encouraged to be kind and generous to each other. However, sometimes it’s hard to be generous when you have nothing to give. With so many families trying to make ends meet, festive season may become a painful reminder of their struggles. But hardships rarely prevent any of us from being kind. Recently a teacher Rachel Uretsky-Pratt shared a heart-melting story from her classroom which proves what Christmas is all about. Read her story below!

Share on FacebookThe gesture from this child is beautiful. You're obviously a really important influence in his/her life. However, it seems sad that so-called 'first-world' countries have to have programs to feed child at school, because their governments will not provide adequate support. I live in NZ, we have a very high ratio of families who struggle (mine included), and it is beautiful to see how there are really people out there who make kids who are in these situations feel special.
The maintenance guy was painting the pipes silver. There were rocks underneath and they got some silver paint on them. Those rocks with the silver paint on them were my first did- it--all-by-myself-gift to Mom.
I hope those marshmallows don't rot, cause that is one precious Gift I'd save for years.
From one teacher to another, thank you for making a difference. These are the gifts that touch us forever. I hope you keep that little bag somewhere special. I made myself an, "I don't suck" box and I put all these little things in it to remind myself when I'm sad that, I don't suck.
Marshmallows in cereals?! Smart kid to give away the c**p. Most beautifull gesture I heard about all year long.
I went to a poor school where I had free breakfast/lunch. We would get the same rolls that we got for lunch but with like a little cinnamon glaze on them. Having lucky charms would have been so much better. Because public schools are government run, they always do a bidding war for the lowest costing businesses to get food. And when you do that you end up with shite.
